    Can't it be both?

I guess you could read it as both, since we know what's going on.

But I think the real intent is to show the differing perspectives based their personal histories.

Travis thinks the military presence will make things better. Ruben Blades's character, being from El Salvador, believes things only get worse when the military shows up.

This episode had a lot of little things that made you think. The husband finding his wife and going in for a hug was touching and very well done.

People have brought up the monopoly scene as a sign of trying to keep things normal—including making the loser cleanup—but what about Travis and his neighbor taking out the trash? We know what's coming. We know that trash service is over, but they don't. They still believe this will be over in a week or two. What is more normal than putting the cans out on trash day?

I had almost forgotten about that scene, but it was well done, too.

I mentioned that to my wife. Thought it was funny how the whole neighborhood had their trashcans out like nothing was going on.

I liked last night's episode. Not as good as the previous two, but certainly better than the opener.
Only two more episodes, though. A six-episode run to me is frustrating. I want to see more.
I want the drug-addict son and the other son to get killed. They are both so annoying.
They can't leave this entire cadre of characters alive at the end of the run. Somebody's gotta get killed off.

The shocking one to get killed off would be the druggie's mom. I'm not necessarily predicting that, but it would be a ballsy move sort of in keeping with the original. Of course, she looks more like this show's Rick, so maybe she sticks around for multiple seasons.

They had to know this show had a built-in audience, so a six-show run is foolish. They should have made eight to 12 episodes -- not a full season, but at least two-thirds of a season.

Really enjoying this show (JR as well). I wondered if the plan was to continue with more episodes when the original series finishes their new episodes?

I don't think they'll kill Maddison. I think she is the Rick of this one.

I think Travis is a dead man, but I don't know if they'll kill him in the next two episodes.

The ratings have been good, so they have to be bringing it back, but I haven't seen info on when it's returning.

Who knows, by the end of these six episodes and a season of TWD, I might be zombie-ed out.

There hasn't been any renewal news because AMC made a two-season commitment when it first ordered the show. It's six episodes this season and 15 episodes in 2015. I assume that it'll bridge the summer gap between the season six finale of The Walking Dead in March and the season seven premiere in October 2016.

The ex wife is probably a goner now that she's gone with the government.
