There's no "deserved" in the equation. No one here would begin to say he deserved to die that day.

But once he went into the cop car all bets were off. No rational dude tries to fight a cop in a cop's car. Shit's going to happen.

He didn't deserve to die. Unfortunately for him, he didn't think things through, starting from the moment he felt like he deserved free cigars.

RIP Michael Brown. Harvard or Google lost a good one.

I think there is merit for a lawsuit against the cigar companies.

If their product wasn't so addictive, Michael Brown would have not been trying to obtain cigars that day.

He would still be walking the streets of Ferguson today, progressing towards his degree in electrical engineering.

Someone get Ezra Klein a few more violin strings.

I don't understand your "violin strings" thing.

He is pointing out a major flaw in Wilson's timeline -- that the Swisher Sweets were so valuable that Brown stopped in the middle of the beating to hand them to his friend.

    Does that sound logical?

The way he writes a few of his sentences such as the continued emphasis on 18-year-old kid ...

    He was no kid.

And to answer your question, Yeah, they were valuable enough to steal, so they were valuable enough to protect to be able to enjoy after whuppin' some pussy-ass cop's ass.
