    Wilson didn't carry a taser.
Did you not read his testimony?

The Christmas shopping season is just getting started! My guess: yes, unfortunately.

I haven't read his entire testimony. I've been busy doing other things. But thank you for pointing that out to me.

Officials saying there won't be a repeat of last night's fires and looting, so it could get ugly fast tonight.

From what I can see, I question the strategy of the police. If the goal is to defend, then should there not be second line of defense to protect property. I could be wrong, but a co-worker also came up with that observation.

Whoever's protecting Ferguson is trying to do so without the use of firearms, which seems like an impossible job; heaven help us should a protestor get shot.

RE Wilson's training and shooting in the heat of the moment, it isn't as easy as you'd think.

During my 10 years as a military policeman, we routinely conducted training specifically for that type of situation, and believe me, you absolutely do not shoot as well under those circumstances.

Most times, we'd train under conditions of exhaustion. We'd perform hand-to-hand combatives, then draw and fire on targets with our heart rates higher. Sometimes, we'd run a couple miles to the range in our gear and then fire to test those skills. On at least two occasions, we were "tased" and then had to engage targets to simulate firing after being shot.

You lose fine motor skills, experience memory loss and, thus, routinely experience lower marksmanship scores.

Not defending Wilson at all, just my $.02 on the marksmanship issue.

Drip would have dropped him with one shot. Clearly, you suck as a marksman.

And that's really the bottom line.

We're eons from where we ever think we're going to get.

You need to read why he said he didn't have a taser. That is far more telling than the shooting itself.

"We only have a select amount," Wilson testified. "Usually there is one available, but I usually elect not to carry one. It is not the most comfortable thing. They are very large; I don't have a lot of room in the front for it to be positioned."
