I was pulled over once for no apparent reason. Was told I was being stopped because I was too close to the cop car on the side of the Interstate when I passed by. You can use all the big words you want, Rick, but it's assinine to think that bad things are not going to happen WHEN YOU ATTACK A COP. On a related note, go out tonight and attack one. See what happens. You might find they're not as racist as you think.

How could they search your vehicle with no probable cause? You needed to ask them if your were free to go right at the beginning. They can't detain you for no reason.

There's a bit of difference between exercising one's constitutional rights and physically attacking a police officer.

Although I suppose if you're black and live in Ferguson, Missouri, doing either is likely to wind up with you being shot to death.

I don't know if I can believe that, especially when the cop had just come from the scene of a choking 2-month-old. It goes against human nature, to be in that kind of a scene, to all of a sudden switch to Provocateur of the Law. I don't buy it.

Except that there's plenty of reason to believe your "strike 2" never actually happened. That claim comes solely from Wilson's self-serving (and frequently absurd sounding) story, no witnesses corroborate it, and Johnson's account contradicts it. And it certainly defies common sense to think a kid in Brown's position would've responded that way.

If you choose to believe that claim as if established fact--fine, that's your business, but don't expect the rest of us to be so blindly trusting of Wilson's word.

The cop who shot a BB-gun wielding 12-year-old in Cleveland has the misfortune of being on video. He better hope that at some point in his life the kid got detention or maybe went to a party or purchased a rap album, otherwise he's in trouble.

Cops initially came out with a statement that the kid didn't listen to orders to drop the weapon. He didn't have time.

From the statement put out before the video was discovered:

"Upon arrival on scene, officers located the suspect and advised him to raise his hands. The suspect did not comply with the officers' orders and reached to his waistband for the gun. Shots were fired and the suspect was struck in the torso."
