You *very* clearly justified his death by the fact that he was a criminal.

You can walk it back or spin it however you like, but you made it clear how you feel.

He didn't deserve to die but his actions led to his death. His death, in my opinion based on the evidence, the circumstances and the grand jury's decision not to indict Wilson, was his own fault.

"It's not about race!" say people who've never once had to worry about how their race might cause an authority figure to view them differently.

And even if that were true, and even if it were perfectly fine that we have a system of laws whereby that series of decisions ends in death, and even if that standard were being applied evenly across all races, we'd *still* be left with the completely, intentionally negligent "investigation" that came to determine those facts.

It's a shame the other guy isn't around to dispute how much of it was his own fault. If only demons could tell stories.

    As a minority, please explain.

Now you are supporting people making assumptions after previously complaining about people making assumptions.

Could it be about race? Possibly. Could it be that Brown really did bring it on himself? Possibly. Could it be that Wilson was wrong, but he would have done the exact same thing when confronted by a big white guy he thought was a criminal? Yup, that's possible, too.

Truth is, you don't know. You assume, but you don't know.

Silly season has arrived on this thread, as it usually does on anything that's not a slam-dunk.

There's absolutely no doubt it was about race.

Did Wilson think to himself "Man I sure do hate black people, I want to kill one someday"? No way of knowing.

But his belief that his life was in danger was very much tied in to stereotypical fear of "hoodlums" that comes from life as a white person in America. It's written all over his choice of words in the report.

And you wonder why I don't quite believe you when you say you were only kidding when you claimed that anybody who doesn't see it your way is a racist?

Sorry Rick, but you don't know this. At best, you are making an educated guess, which is really funny coming from a guy who vehemently argues against things that cannot be proven statistically in other threads on this very site.

Silly season has been a part of every single discussion of this subject.
