I guess that almost-win over powerhouse Mississippi State still garnered Auburn three votes

There's a new one these days, referring to a reputation the school has that isn't so flattering, a reputation that, ironically enough, is a result of the "CK"-ing.

just a thought. discuss: based on a couple of comments here, and the debate nationally, what if the AP and coaches' polls were limited to top 10 or top 15?

It would be fine, but we can't have that in society.
We need bigger lists, more lists; to feel good about ourselves, we need to know that our favorite team is ranked 35th in honorable mentions and the like.
We need more divisions in high school so more kids can win state titles and feel good about themselves.
AP used to do the top 20 -- can't have that any more. fans of the next five teams would have esteem issues...

    You are kidding, right?

The only team UM's defense has stopped this year has been Notre Dame. And Penn State's defense didn't allow an offensive touchdown to ND.

    I am dead serious.
Penn State sucks vs. Lloyd Carr. Michigan, under Carr, is something like 7-1 against PSU. Many of those game aren't even close.
Joe Pa couldn't beat Carr if you tied him to a tree and gave Paterno a hickory stick.

Michigan has a good offense. A good offense. Good enough to outscore PSU. The Nittany Lions offense is so-so. Morelli is "ehh" at best.

Nope, I'm convinced PSU will fall on Saturday, giving the Big Ten yet another black eye.

If I'm wrong, You got a six pack on me.

Also, PSU will lose to Wisconsin as well. In recent years, the Badgers also have the Lions game plan pegged.

Being a loser fanboy, I know all about the struggles in the Big House and vs. Lloyd Carr, but this year just smells different.

We'll see how it unfolds. UM wins, you get a six-pack of Yuengling on me.

I'm a life-long PSU fan and a faithful follower of Joe Paterno, but when it comes to Michigan, I stopped drinking the Kool Aid two years ago.

Guess which one is the die hard PSU fan?

    ;)

    Wicked,
I'm partial to Yuengling's Black and Tan.

    How about this:

From one poll to another -- in the AP poll, Jon Wilner of the San Jose (Calif.) Mercury News has West Virginia ranked 15th, behind Nebraska (13th). He ranked Rutgers 24th, South Carolina 4th and Florida just seventh, one spot behind of....... Alabama
