For me, it's pretty simple -- all the undefeateds except for UConn are in the top 10. At this point, the only two-loss team in my poll is Florida.

I love how, despite all the parity, the big names still get the benefit of the doubt, especially in the coaches poll.

I love how there are only 11 undefeateds in the country and one isn't ranked and five are ranked between 11 and 20. Let's not let anybody earn anything.

just have to wait and see how those teams ranked ahead of the for-now unbeatens today stand record-wise at the end of the season vs. those same unbeatens. I suspect it won't be a ton different than it is today. of course, in the year of the upset and greatest parity we've seen in some time, that'll be blown up.

Hawaii is benefiting directly from Boise St.'s win in the Fiesta Bowl last year. Everyone's looking around for that team that could be the "next" BSU, and surprise, Hawaii is the only mid-major that's worth a damn.

Too bad they'd finish in the back half of the SEC, Big XII or Pac 10. And they wouldn't contend in the other three.

Too bad you don't know what you're talking about. USC and Cal are the only Pac-10 team who'd definitely beat them. Oregon might at home. So at worst, like BSU last year, Hawaii'd be fourth, at best third in the Pac-10.

I'd take them up against most of the mid-level teams in the SEC as well, and up against everybody except Oklahoma in the Big 12.

Make Hawaii play the entire conference schedule, and I guarantee they finish in the bottom half of the SEC. Guarantee. If Hawaii played the entire schedule, then Florida, LSU, South Carolina, Auburn, Tennessee and Georgia are all better teams. Alabama and Arkansas might be too.

Same with the Big XII. Oklahoma, Texas, Mizzou, Kansas and Kansas St. are all better. Nebraska might be. Hell, even in the Big East, they'd finish behind West Virginia, South Florida and Cincinnati.

They could put up big numbers with the gimmick offense, but they'd lose more often than not. Ask Texas Tech how passing 70 times a game works in major conference football.

It takes a little more to impress me than Charleston Southern, Northern Colorado, Louisiana Tech (in OT, no less) and Utah State.

Missouri would win about seven 77-56 games against Hawaii, and lose the other three by that margin. Hawaii has been pretty non-dominant for the most part, but their defense has been a surprise, with some game-changing plays.

Umm, before you start comparing creampuffs, you really need to leave the SEC out of the equation for your own safety.

    Hawaii's a bottom-feeding in the Pac-10.

Actually, there's a lot of schools from a lot of major conferences who would be bottom feeding in the Pac-10 this season

Yes. Ohio State would be bottom feeding. How astute.

I like what Della does with his/her picks, so I decided to follow the same model. I can't believe how long it took me today. Holy Christ, this is brutal.

1-5: LSU (I had USC all season), Cal, South Florida, Ohio State and Boston College. USF is third because wins at Auburn and over West Virginia are better than anything OSU has to offer. It doesn't bother me the Bulls struggled Saturday. It's a long season and that's going to happen. For the full year, their resume is better than the Buckeyes'.

6-10: South Carolina, Oklahoma, USC, Oregon, West Virginia. South Carolina's only loss is on the road, against LSU. That's a better defeat, with better wins, than the other one-loss teams. The coaches' poll is a joke putting them 12th.

11-15: Kentucky, Missouri, Florida, Cincinnati, Hawaii. I really disagree with both the coaches and writers over Kentucky. This season, a road loss to the Cocks is no shame. Now, in two weeks, after LSU and Florida, I might feel differently. But their one defeat is at the same level as Oregon's (Cal) & West Virginia's (SFU).

16-20: Illinois, Arizona State, Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, Florida State. This was a tough group. The Sun Devils deserve credit for beating everyone on their schedule, but I don't think they're very good. The Badgers don't deserve to be ranked higher than Illinois, but this was a high as I would put the Illini. Again, I disagree with all pollsters about Virginia Tech. Considering the beating they took at LSU, one win over Clemson isn't enough to vault them anywhere near the top 10 in my books.

21-25: Tennessee, Georgia, Kansas, Colorado, Texas. Tennessee losses: California & Florida, two highly ranked teams. Georgia losses: South Carolina and Tennessee, two ranked teams. Sorry, but I can't rank Kansas any higher yet. Colorado losses: Arizona State and Florida State, two ranked teams. Texas losses: Oklahoma and Kansas State, which to me is better than Mississippi State, which puts them ahead of Auburn.

Sorry, slap, for re-submitting my poll three times.
