Such a disparity between AP and USA Today.

This was a hard week to pick a No. 1.

First off, Mizzou beat my No. 1 handily though the pussycats had to fend off the Blue Birds of Cocksuckery at the end. Still a great win in one of the best games of the year, if not the best game.

Secondly, West Virginny was being called to the dancefloor by the Connecticut boys, and there was a lot to prove in front of the Morgantowners, both by the West By Godders and the Nutmeggers. They start to tango and what happens? Black and gold does the fandango ALL OVER Conn's face; no need to wipe the seed, doggies, you done been red-rocketed back into the pool of pretenders. Thanks for coming, and thanks for giving up 66 points in the biggest game in program history.

Mizzou and West Virginny went out and proved it on the field against the No. 1 team (in my poll) and this year's Rutgers, respectively. Both impressive wins regardless of the final margin of victory.

Mizzou and West VAHHH both could be No. 1. Maybe both are No. 1. But the ol' Slapcoach won't allow a dual top billing. So ...

    1, west virginny
    2, mizzoulia
    3, kansas
    4, usc
    5, ohio state
    6, georgia
    7, lsu
    8, florida
    9, virginny tech
    10, illinois
    11, oklahoma
    12, hawaii
    13, tennessee
    14, boston college
    15, wisconsin
    16, cincy
    17, byu
    18, wake forest
    19, arizona state
    20, boise state
    21, virginia
    22, connecticut
    23, arkansas
    24, auburn
    25, texas

Haven't been able to post my ballot for awhile, but wanted to do so this week.

    Number one is Hawaii.

This may change after Missouri/Oklahoma, but I feel that, right now, the Rainbows deserve to be recognized for going unbeaten so far this season. In 2007, to go unblemished is very impressive.

2-5: Missouri, WVU, Kansas, OSU. Don't think it's fair to drop the Jayhawks too far. Their only loss is to my number two team, and many others' number one.

6-10: LSU, Georgia, Oklahoma, USC, Florida. Sorry Bulldogs, LSU won its division, you didn't.

11-15: Virginia Tech, ASU, Boston College, Tennessee, Illinois.

16-20: Clemson, Oregon, Virginia, Texas, BYU. Feel bad for the Ducks.

21-25: South Florida, Boise State, Wisconsin, Michigan, Cincinnati.

Hawaii had to squeak by Louisiana Tech and San Jose State both in overtime, Fresno State and Nevada, and their signature win is Boise State at home, and you rank them No. 1? The question is, how far will you drop Hawaii after they lose to Washington?

And if they don't? Wow. They've beaten a bad Washington team.

Elliotte won't be the only one to rank the Warriors No. 1. We're so sorry we don't have your approval.
