Should Hawaii win tonight, I want someone to explain to me why they aren't worthy of a No. 1 vote and spot in the BCS Title Game.

Just made my preliminary run through my ballot for this week, and it is a complete clusterfuck. Might as well draw out of a hat. I know nothing.

to think, a playoff in 2007 would've been the perfect debut with the clusterfuck we now have. New Year's Day bowl debating about who should win the title becomes much less fun when the BCS title game officially anoints the champion. it should be between Ohio State, LSU, Oklahoma and USC. Match USC and Ohio State and LSU and Oklahoma and do a plus-one already.

Well, this season is more unpredictable than it is becoming magical. What a fustercluck it's been: no team wanting to assert itself as the uber-best in the deep waters of dominance.

Then the BCS pickle-suckers go and bring us a boring title game between LSU and OSU. L v. O. To me that means Losing Out ... as in, we're losing out on a game that would provide more national drama "Lower 48 v. Islanders" in lieu of z-z-z-z-z status quo. Ohio State and Weeziana State. Woooo-doggy! That's some thrillin' Oreo Double Stuf now, ain't it? SEC cum-slurpers rejoice! You can continue to wage a war on how the SEC deserves to play for the whole enchilada because Georgia destroyed Boise State in 2005. That right there, boy, is all the reason I need to elevate LSU into the title game. There's going to be a commercial-free circle jerk south of the Mason-Dixon till the most magical, breathtaking, greatest of all time title game between the State ewes, L and O.

We all have our favorite teams; that's why watching sports is fun, to have a favorite team. Got your Alabammys out there, and you've got your USC'ers like me. Someone out there must love Troy like someone must wake up every week to dedicatingly watch North Texas go 2-10. And a tiny island of Wahini Rainbows wake up every Saturday to watch a crazy-stat-making kid named Colt Brennan throw for 928 yards and 14 touchdowns against another weakling while most of America has gone to sleep dreaming about Anna Kournikova standing there naked with an ice cream scoop and a bucket of chocolate syrup; oh wait, that's me. Still, if I had to choose, I'd take my cocky yet sweet point guard Diana Taurasi, but that's neither here nor there. But you know, the BCS championship pickers do want Anna Kournikova and a neverending bucket of chocolate syrup, not what some would describe as a fringe cutie with a mole on her cheek. To them, Hawaii is that mole on the cheek; America as a whole, they'll declare, doesn't want fringe cuties with moles on their cheeks, even if they're bedazzlers with the basketball.

Would it have killed the BCS pickle-suckers to put Hawaii in the title game and really build that sucker up? The islanders against the Lower 48! What have we really given Hawaii since we hijacked it and made it statehood? Certainly not a chance to win the national title game of American college football. The Rainbows won every game, even against Charleston Southern. Hey, they wanted to do the Charleston Shuffle, or they wanted to eat a Charleston Chew. Whatever, thank you very much, JDV. Michigan played Appy State and lost. Had the Wolverines won that game and somehow quacked the Ducks and gone undefeated, would we have held it against Maize and Blue for playing a I-AA team when it came time to choose title-game teams? Doubt it.

Brennan went down like a house of cards on an airport tarmac when that Fresno State player inflicted a Quentin Coryatt/Marc Carrier type of hit of devastation. Can't believe Brennan didn't stay down the rest of the season. Fresno is no slouch. Fresno had a great chance to win that game, but Hawaii hung tough and won with a late field goal. Ain't so easy to win every single game on the schedule.

Who knows. Maybe there's a cabal that doesn't want the WAC to join the big boys; maybe $17 mil is too much for the conference to reap. God forbid Hawaii and Fresno and Utah State -- UTAH STATE! -- use that shared money to start, you know, RECRUITING! That means Hawaii and Fresno and Boise and Utah State would start wooing more players away from Georgia, which is the greatest team of all time because it humped dry Boise State in 2005!, and LSU and Notre Dame and Michigan and West Virginny, which sure had an easy time there with Pitt, huh? Good for Waanstadt. Deserves at least one marquee win. But I've digressed.

How dare Hawaii and Boise State think they deserve a shot at the national title! Go to your rooms, Rainbows and Broncos!

Yeah, go to your room, Hawaii, because you won every game on the schedule, the only team to do that in 2007, and you're being punished for daring to do such a thing. Shame on you, Hawaii.

Dumb question time: if you feel that passionately about Hawaii in the title game, why do you have them ranked 10th?
