I actually missed Broussard's sentiments about same-sex marriage, which, again I'm not sure why it is even an issue in this discussion about what is "tolerance" and what is not.

Lugnuts -- they've spent millions and millions on research and many years trying to prove it and still have not even though they clearly have an agenda which is to try and prove the science behind it all.

Much like evolution -- which is a crock with no solid evidence and a lot of wild fantasies and theories but is a politically correct crock and therefore we must accept it as science -- scientists want to prove that to be the case yet they haven't been able to.

My question to you is -- what if it has been proven that it is not genetic, do you think that evidence would ever get out of the lab?

Why is it necessary to prove it? Do we suspect that all gays have somehow conspired to lie about their identity and have successfully covered it up throughout history?

Double Down -- Maybe you should learn how to read and thus not have to open your mouth just to switch feet. I think I stated in very clear and easy to read terms that I don't care if homosexuals want to get married or not. To me it is a non-issue, let them get married and sing Freddie Mercury songs at the reception if they want. I don't care and thus I am not oppressing anyone.

Yes, that's right, that's classic liberalism as well. We know it to be true, well, because we say so and you should accept it too because if you don't you are a bigot.

I'm just asking because we are not in a court of law so I am not sure on whom the burden of proof lies. Why isn't it you that has to prove it is a choice?

Let me write this down so I will never be without it.

I'm not the one trying to make the case that everyone who disagrees with me or my lifestyle is a bigot, that's why.

No one here is calling you a bigot, zag. No one. But you continue to fly off the handle and act as if you're the one being oppressed here.

zag, you never answered my question! :)

If if were proven-- TOTOALLY hypothetical-- that homosexuality is something you're born with-- would it change your opinion?

    -------------

In answer to your question, yes. I have a lot of faith in the scientific establishment... in the cynicism of the scientific establishment... in the placebo-controlled, double-blind study.

Now will you answer my question?

Equal treatment and respect for all -- unless you're a conservative posting on SportsJournalists.com.

Dude, seriously, why are some of you conservatives such babies? I like you pallister. I like PopeDirkBenedict a lot. I think Mighty Wingman is excellent. I'll always read what Guy_Incognito has to say. I don't even mind hondo, unlike some people. Hell, I even enjoy Boom and Chris_L most of the time, and I know I'm leaving a few good ones out. No one particularly likes the lunatic fringe who can't ever post a single thing about journalism or sports, but can't tear themselves away from the threads about abortion, gay marriage, etc. We all know who they are. And some of you whine and whine that Fenian is their equal. Except that Fenian is a long-time journalist who is perfectly capable of talking about journalism and sports and does so often, as well as a gifted writer with a hell of a lot of knowledge about the business. But golly gee, I guess he's the equal of Zagoshe or deeper_background.

But whaaaa! Whaaaaaa! Conservatives can't get a break on SportsJournalists.com. Oh, you poor thing. How DO you find the courage to sign on to your computer every day and face all us scary liberals and our Streisand-tipped bayonets?
