    At my first newspaper job I took call-ins on pigeon racing, which was popular with the oldtimers. If someone had shot another's, I coulda pitched that for 1A.

    They were showing some trampoline on Gold Zone. American got a "That actually wasn't bad at all" from the commentator, but the competition just isn't the same after the retirement of four-time Chinese medalist Dong Dong.

    Watched the mixed 4 x 400 meters prelims in track a little bit ago. I didn't even know that event existed, but man was that fun.

    Tokyo was the first time. The IOC is really, really excited about these mixed team and mixed relay events. Some of them are more interesting than others, but setting a world record in the heats was pretty fun.
