dude, pretty sure your hand's not gonna be in use long enough for that to be a concern. I mean, frequency will cause a little smudging, but you should be ok.

Root, root, root: Barq's wins SportsJournalists.com Soft Drink Wars

ESTERBROOK, Wyo. (SJ) -- Barq's root beer had plenty of reasons to come into the SportsJournalists.com Soft Drink Wars as an underdog.

Now, it has every reason -- and every needed vote -- to leave as its champion.

Barq's had little trouble knocking out Sprite 15-6 in the championship of the SportsJournalists.com Soft Drink Wars, putting to rest forever the debate of which soft drink is the best.

Cries of foul from voters and non-voters alike, whether complaining about the seeding process, the tiebreaking process or other personal issues, did nothing to slow Barq's roll.

One of the few caffeinated members of the Root Beer Conference, Barq's used the extra surge of energy in the tournament to overcome the rough No. 9 seed awarded to it by the seeding committee. And Barq's had little trouble rolling past the big boys, beating No. 1 seed Coke in the second round and No. 2 seeds Dr Pepper and Sprite in the final two match-ups of the tournament.

While Barq's future remains uncertain, its present is clear (or, maybe a bubbly brownish-amber color) -- it's the champion of the Wars, and no one can ever take that away from them!

Join the celebration! (Celebration courtesy Google image search.)

Barq's is not better than Sprite. We'll show you all next year.

It is on this day. Accept defeat, Mikey. You're normally so good at it.
