Currently in South Africa but had a chance to watch the overseas coverage of the third round. It's a bit odd. It's the CBS broadcast, basically. But no after-round interviews. And every once in awhile Roger Twibell (hey, Roger Twibell is still around!) breaks in and is the play-by-play guy and analyst, all in one. then it'll cut back in and Nantz or Faldo or whoever is talking. Twibell also provides updates on the international players. So we'll get a random round recap of an international player who's 12 strokes behind. Won't have a chance to watch the final round, though. I'm pulling for Bubba, Westwood, Furyk, Couples or Jimenez. One of the olds.

Speaking of oldies, it was 28 years ago today that Jack Nicklaus won his sixth Masters title.

Probably the most riveting day I've ever had watching golf. Just on the edge of your seat stuff for three hours. Not just Nicklaus shooting 30 on the back nine to make a charge (including eagle, birdie, birdie at 15-17), but Seve Ballesteros hitting it in the water on 15, Greg Norman (tied for the lead) hooking his tee shot into the gallery at 18. Just really great theater.

Apparently 28 years has sanded down the specifics of something you remember so vividly, because Norman did not "hook his shot off the tee" into the gallery. He hit a push slice with a four iron into the gallery from the middle of the fairway on his second shot.

Man, Couples is doing this thing.

How great would it be to have the clubhouse leader hoping to become the oldest winner in history, trying to fend off the guy trying to be the youngest winner in history.

Spieth has been scatterbrained off the tee so far. But he's bailed himself out with good recovery on 2 and made the birdie putt then holed out from the bunker on 4. But he needs to get the big stick in line if he's going to win this thing, even though he's up two.

Kuchar with the first four-putt of his career on 4 for a double.

Huge swing for Bubba. Goes from two down after 7 to two up heading to the back nine.

And Bubba is just smoking the ball off the tee.

Bubba, Bubba, no toil or trouble.

How about 50-year-old Miguel Angel Jimenez -- The Most Interesting Man in Golf -- as your clubhouse leader? Just got to 4 under with two to play.

David Feherty on Bubba going for the green in two on 15: "Oh, he's lost his marbles."

It *feels* over. But you never know with Bubba.

And there went Spieth's chance, sliding barely off to the right.
