No, I haven't had a chance to, but it's certainly not a matter of just sending away for a green card.

I don't want to see the guy deported.

He hasn't lived in the Philippines since he was 12. He's 30 now.

That's no longer his home, and it wasn't his decision to come here.

Plus, he's worked hard and done well. He's the kind of person we want in America.

I understand rules need to be enforced. I get that he lied on Federal forms. Maybe the Government just ignores this. Though, I don't know how that gets him a Green Card or eventually Citizenship.

I also wonder if had his grandparents been more sophisticated and had better lawyers if they could have taken care of all of this 15 years ago. Couldn't they just have stated that the boys mother was incapable of raising him?

To me, this guy is a perfect example of why the Dream Act makes sense.

I get the opposition to illegal immigration. I don't get the opposition to the Dream Act... though honestly, I don't get the impression that most people who squawk about the Dream Act have any idea what it would actually do.

They don't belong here. They take all our Pulitzer Prizes. Next thing you know they're clogging our National Book Awards. Marrying into the Drama Desk Critics' Association. Writing anchor books. And they all get free money from the Guggenheim Foundation! You know they do. What's next, the MacArthur Grants? My God, wake up people!

At least that damn Canadian, Jones, didn't win -- or even get nominated for -- a National magazine ward this year.

    Score one for the USA!

That'll show those damn, dirty Canucks.

It's comical how some people seem to think that coming to live or work in America is easy and the illegals are some kind of lawbreaking lowlifes or likely terrorists that are too lazy to go down to the courthouse and fill out some forms or something.

    Rhody,

Do you have written permission from the original rightsholder to use the copyrighted photo in your sig?

Or are you breaking the law and should be prosecuted?

What about illegals voting? They must be voting en masse, right? Politicans don't like to employ scare tactics.

The staggering number of people who so brazenly feel comfortable categorizing illegals! as some sort of sub-species, as if they are closer to animals than humans, is one of the most depressing things about our country today. Truly.

Rhody, it really is difficult to come across as the most ignorant poster on a thread where Mark2010 has posted. Congratulations you have succeeded.
