This is terrible news. As someone with Bucs-Packers tickets, I just lost at least $200 in scalping profits.

How am I supposed to feed my family? What about my kids?

Screw you Brett Favre. SCREW YOU!

I wonder if Browning Nagle is ready to compete for his old starting job

I don't think the Jets can get a fourth-rounder for Pennington. If they can, Tannenbaum is a genius.

Great move by the Packers, getting him out of the NFC. Now as long as the Packers have a better record than the Jets (probable) they look OK in the deal.

If Pennington gets a sniff more than a sixth, it is a walk-on-water miracle.

I've read a couple of posts that talk about the Jets' terrific offensive line. Great, they got Faneca, who will improve them at one position. But this is still a team that finished 28th in sacks allowed (53/3.3 per game) and got worse as the season went on (avg. 4.5 sacks the final six games). The Jets have a very long way to go before I'll consider their offensive line even average.

They have to release Chad by 4. No need for anyone to give up a pick for him.

Exactly. They're over the cap until they do so. I'll bet he winds up somewhere in the NFC North.

Since the Jets can't trade Favre to the Vikings, how about trading him to the Bears?

A cynical Jets fan would say the move was a publicity stunt to sell more PSLs for the new stadium opening in two years (thankfully I'm not a Jets fan). Or it was a move to get rid of oft-injured Pennington and get a legendary QB to tutor Kellen Clemens for a year. As I'm guessing Clemens will learn more about the game by watching and talking to Favre for one season than he did in 2 seasons of talking to coaches and watching Pennington.

I'm looking forward to Matt Robinson coming out of retirement.

Does Green Bay need a back-up?

That would be my choice if I was Chad.

Nah, the Bucs will sign him. :)

As far as the move, Favre upgrades the Jets more than the Bucs. How much better will the Jets be? I don't know, but I'm guessing it's worth several wins.

Either way, they're no better than a wildcard team. Probably out in the first round. Then what? He's 38. He'll be out of the league in a year -- two at the most. Then what?

Good for the Bucs for not giving up too much for a player that will only marginally make them better.
