Stranger things have happened, but I doubt Pennington goes somewhere unless they'll at least let him compete for a starting job. Based on Tarvaris Jackson's level of suckage, that would lead him to Minnesota.

True, but if he wants to cash paycheks with a clean jersey and good health for the next 5-6 years, Green Bay would be my choice.

Heck, look at Charlie Batch. You think he is unhappy he cannot compete for a starting job?

ESPN couldn't wait until Favre, you know, actually plays to see him in Jets colors. ::)

Watching Farve is like watching an insensible cretin smear shit all over himself. Whatever happens, it will be an asterisk of fail in the story of his career. What a dickbag. I am going to enjoy some serious schadenfreude watching this long-running absurdity this season. Thanks, Farvenozzle! :D

At least they needed a good quarterback.

Maybe I'm a Jets fanboi, but I really liked Chad. Granted, he was doomed by a lack of arm strength, but he usually made excellent decisions. Plus, I'm a sucker for the play action fakes.

This just goes to show why the Jets haven't won a Super Bowl in 40 years. A QB past his prime will do about as much for this franchise as, well, Boomer Esiason and Chad Pennington. Yet because its New York, they act as if the Jets have acquired Tom Brady. Go figure.

There's no doubt they were LAST on Favre's list of preferences.

I liked Chad, too, but he's been done since he injured his shoulder.

How awesome would it be if the Vikings gave the Jets four first round picks just to negate that clause (which I thought was brilliant btw)?

It would be as awesome as the Walker deal.

"Brett Favre? What the hell are you doing here?"
"I'm here to play the Dolphins, dumbass."

As a life long Jet fan, I really don't know what to make out of this signing.

Is this another case of NYers buying into the signing of an age old star who is at the tail end of his career? Brett had a comeback year at the age of 39 last season, after having two questionable seasons prior to that. I clearly remember yelling at my television at last year's NFC Championship game saying "Brett is reverting back into dumb Brett" as he proceeded to heave INT after INT to the NY giants. Is that the Brett who the Jets have signed, or was that game simply an aberration?

    **sigh**

Who knows...all I do know is as a Jet fan, you're used to carrying this battered wife syndrome. allowing the Jets and their moves to hurt you...yet you still find your way back home to continue taking this beating.
