There could be a counterbalancing effect on graphics from the prevalence of hi-def big screen TV. People are getting much better images of the game, and they may want LESS graphic information and more picture. I know I feel that way sometimes.

If I watch a hockey game on TV and there's a casual/non-fan with me, I invariably hear them mention that a) they don't like watching because they can't see the puck and b) didn't the puck used to be glowing red, because that made it easier for them to see.

Which goes to show that if Fox had made the glowing puck a lot of subtle (a slight tinge of red instead of looking like it was straight from Chernobyl) it might have worked. The red streak on the slapshot, however, was the dumbest thing ever.

Was there a montage of the dancing robot from the NFL games?

FOX also brought us the cartoon and live action version of The Tick.

HDTV was the best thing to ever happen to hockey. The puck is pretty easily visible now and any effects would be superfluous.

The three Fox shows I watched were The Simpsons, Married with Children and In Living Color. They were all great back in the day, but then again I was a teen when watching them. Haven't watched The Simpsons for years now and haven't watched clips of the other two lately to see if they hold up well.

I'll be slammed for saying this, but as great as In Living Color was at the time, it does not hold up...

    At all...

Please tell that to my mom/wife/sister/etc., or come to my house and adjust the settings on my HDTV.

I'm actually pissed that I missed this. I hardly ever watch network TV, so when my mom said something about it, I thought there was some 20-year reunion of 90210 on and turned on The Killing [/ducking].

I loved Fox when it first came on. We didn't have cable until I was 16, so I remember a lot of the early shows.

We had one of those TVs with a VHF and UHF dial, so we were able to get Fox 31 and 68. Of course this was dependent on which crazy way we had to bend the antenna, who was sitting where in the room and if we could adjust the tin foil we rigged around the antenna.

Damn right about the humor on the X-Files. Lots of good inside jokes about the characters, especially Mulder. I always liked how they poked fun of their nerdy, 1990s-Internet-loving fans and the Fox network itself -- which several other Fox shows have done, too.

My top three FOX shows would be:
    1. The X-Files
    2. That 70s Show
    3. Futurama (I give this the slight edge over The Simpsons)

27 episodes over a year-and-a-half. I think I was one of the few who watched every single one.
