    $1.50 for a slurpee? Shit, in my neighborhood the current price for a true slurpee is $4.00, or 12 Newports, buyers choice.

    If only they observed their birthday on Dec. 31 ... man, a free 12.31-ounce Slurpee. Might as well be all of our birthdays! Gosh, we can dream ...

    Except no substitutes. Slurpees can be imitated but not equaled or surpassed.
    Icees, Slushies, Slush Puppies, etc., not of them have the perfect Slurpee texture. They're too pebbly.

    Too late for the SportsJournalists.com outting but there is a 7-11 within a 1/3 of a mile of the hotel.
    I know I will be frequenting it many times for a slurpee fix.

    I think the only 7-Eleven in this state is in Louisville. I really don't want to drive 50 miles just for one Slurpee.....
