Friday Night Lights, Season 2

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by Cosmo, Oct 1, 2007.

  1. Pretty good episode ... but one thing that worries me is the theme of "young kids" hooking up with adults on this show. It's almost becoming cliched.
They can still save it, though. Have Julie's parents overreact to her friendship with Noah (and make him a sincerely interested teacher). I am enjoying Saracen's evolution into a player. It makes sense, too. All last season, he was still getting his feet wet and, in a sense, still in Jason Street's shadow.
This season, he's QB1 and it shows. And, unlike some people on here, I don't have a huge problem with his flirting with the home nurse. She seems like she's only a few years older than him; they live together; he's a nice guy and she's hot. It's kind of a natural.

In two weeks, though, it looks like the Landry-murder storyline hits its peak. We'll see how they play it. Hopefully, it's not the end for Landry, but I don't see any other realistic way for him to get out of it, unless his dad tries to take the fall for him.

I agree...enough with the student/adult relationships. It's going overboard. First Riggens/older neighbor, Saracen/nurse, and now Julie/journalist teacher, which has the most potential of the three.

I have no idea where they are headed with Riggens.

Easily, the best thing in this episode was Smash's recruiting. The actor who plays him did a fine job and was the star of this episode.

I thought this past week's episode was great and I can still look past the fact that every plot line is so incredibly predictable from the moment they suggest what might happen because the acting is so good.

I really hope that the Landry character doesn't go to jail. The actor/character is one of the best reasons to watch.

i predict the teacher-julie thing is there so julie can get her hear broken again when the teacher tells her that he's the teacher and not a boyfriend.

No the teacher is going to go for it because Julie is hot and then coach is going to come in and beat the living crap out of him.

Riggins will fuck Tara's sister and Sarasen will go the next level with the nurse and have an open romace with the hot girl he is currently dating and Smash will get everyone in throuble with the nora girl or whatever her name is.

Panthers season goes down the drain for ilegal transfer with the convict kid and Smash's recruiting violation but I think they will do something similar to what's going on with Reggie Bush and USC.

First, for some reason, I was REALLY glad the morning after the kiss and the nurse indicated to Saracen that she was quite cool with it.

And the teacher ... that IS "John From Cincinnati," isn't it?

Yes. And even though this time he's not saying, "The end is near", it sadly might be true for FNL anyway...

With simultaneously running Riggins-MILF, Saracen-Nurse, and now Julie-Teacher storylines, have they not gone way overboard on the adult-minor romance theme? This show's writing staff may've seen too many Hot for Teacher videos in their youth.
