I've got to think Street hooks up with that sales gal at the dealership. My question is will TMU end up yanking Smash's scholarship because of the fight and he ends up having to go somewhere else? I was pleasantly surprised that Bible Man didn't dump Lyla when he found out she wasn't "pure." I think somebody's gonna die in the next few episodes. Just a feeling.

If we're going on feelings, I've been waiting for Bible Boy to try to force himself on Tyra. There's just something uneasy about when they're together. Maybe he's violent and he hits her, or something.

Anyway, that's probably not going to last long.

That's REALLY the feeling I get with that kid. I'm afraid I'd go as far as to suggest the R word.

And, should that happen, I think we all know who's going to step in and be the knight in shining armor.

I can see Smash losing his ride to TMU and having to go to the historically black college that tried to recruit him in the beginning to the process because a bunch of other schools leave him high and dry.

As soon as we saw that coach, I said Smash ends up going there. Didn't know how it would happen, but that he would end up becoming a big-time star in a comparatively small pond.
I've never quite understood the Noel relationship. Her brother is a star at Miami, yet she has never really pressured Smash to go there. I always figured that's what she was looking for, that she would be pushing him to follow her brother.
It's been pretty well established that Street isn't in college because he doesn't have the desire. He was a football player, first and last. He was going to college because that's what you do when you are a star football player and headed to the NFL. What we are seeing now is still an extension of him trying to figure out what to do now that his football dreams are gone.
And I think his hookup with the waitress was just a way to get him out of the house, and to say quads can get some lovin' too.

Yeah. Miami Southern is to Miami as TMU is to Texa.

Perhaps I've watched a better episode of a TV show in my 35 years, but I certainly can't think of anything that stacks up to Friday's episode. That was spectacular. If they drop this show, I might need counseling.

It had some really good marks. I don't get the Saracen turn though.

Loved the way Smash acted though. It was outstanding. You have to like where his character is going in this.

    Landry and Tyra. Sonofabitch.

I have a hard, hard time (not in that way though!) believing that the strippers in Bumblefuck, Texas look that hot. No fucking way.

This is easly one of the best series created in the last decade. I'm quite happy watching it every Friday.

Hard to think of a better episode of television I've seen. It was like a smack in the face followed by a punch in the gut.
    "I always skip Wednesdays"
    "Everybody leaves me"
"I think Matt needs your help"
These were all short lines that struck deep. Even the break-up scene between Landry and his chick killed. I don't know how this show does it week after week, but it does.
Can't wait until next week when Pete Berg shows up. And when is Coach Taylor gonna unload on TMU for calling out Smash for his character?

Damn good stuff tonight. My favorite line (from Landry, of course): "I just don't want to see you become no at-risk youth."

I can't believe they're going to follow this up by burning one of their few remaining episodes with some concocted reason to get Peter Berg a guest spot. I get why they would want to do it, but they just don't have the luxury.
