I just got DirecTV a couple of months ago, so I might not be the most qualified to answer this, but here's what I know: The only DirecTV-only channel I know of is a preview channel for its pay-per-view programming. I don't think they'd put FNL on that.
I will say this, though. DirecTV is like five bucks more a month than cable (or less) for a pretty damn good package and you get all of the premium channels for free for the first three months. And I've never had a problem with reception (knock on wood). Plus, for an extra 12 or 13 bucks a month you get all of the FSNs, plus ESPNU and CSTV, if you're into that sort of thing (they black out non-regional pro sports but you get all the college stuff usually). Only drawback vs. cable is that you have to sign a two-year contract.

Flag on the play. NYT is reporting the deal in not yet done. But Nikki Finke is usually dead on.

The main channel that DirectTV has is channel 101 where they got all kinda stuff from old tv shows to the Championship Gaming Series. This is the only channel I would think they would add FNL.

NBC announces its Fall lineup Wednesday, it looks like season 3 has been firmed up and is a go based on Internet chatter.

It's a great show. Sadly, I have a difficult time watching it lately. Connie Britton's father, who was my best friend and mentor in high school, died a little more than a month ago.

  7. What about the rest of season 2?

Season 3 is going to be a rebuilding year for the Panthers. If I am not mistaken all their big players are seniors. It will be interesting to see how they handle.

Maybe Tim Riggins will become a Fonzi like character. Never leaving town always hanginag at the local Applebees sipping cherry Cokes talking about the good old days.

Saracen's still going to be around, right? I thought he was a junior this past season. And maybe Buddy Garrity's charity case there still has eligibility.

Something tells me it would probably be a little stronger than Cherry Coke, but I hope that doesn't happen to him. I just watched the FNL movie about a week ago and found many cringe-worthy moments of adults living their pathetic lives through high school football. You'd hate to watch a character turn into one of those people before your eyes.
