By people, you mean the "Gang of Pravda" or proud lefties whose motto is "We're Centrists. Just ask us."

Amused reading at comments about how bad this thread is. Reading through threads on another board where "die in a fire" is tossed out regularly.

Ha Ha ha you fucking liberal idiots got what you paid for --- and you will be paying a lot.

Oh but I know, I know - without tax increases our firemen would be laid off and we'd have no roads to drive on....

The comments from article are gems. I guess these people did not get the memo:

What happened that my Social Security withholding’s in my paycheck just went up? My paycheck just went down by an amount that I don’t feel comfortable with. I guarantee this decrease is gonna’ hurt me more than the increase in income taxes will hurt those making over 400 grand. What happened?”

Another comment, by “DemocratToTheEnd” was, “My boyfriend has had a lot of expenses and is feeling squeezed right now, and having his paycheck shrink really didn’t help.”

“Nancy Thongkham” gave a measured response to the new taxes she would have to pay: “F***ing Obama! F*** you! This taking out more taxes s*** better f***ing help me out!! Very upset to see my paycheck less today!”

“_Alex™” was more resigned: “Obama I did not vote for you so you can take away a lot of money from my checks.”

“Dave” had the most honest reaction: “Obama is the biggest f***ing liar in the world. Why the f*** did I vote for him”?

The low information liberals are now finding out that they got played.

    Hard sacrifices to be made.
    Try to keep up, America.

    And temporary means temporary.

Yes - hard sacrifices to be made - how much is the inauguration and party going to cost?

I mean, I know that Katy Perry and Beyonce are essential to keeping the hippest President's hip image intact, but what if Obama just, you know put his hand on the book, got sworn in and gave a nice speech and went about his business of doing work.

Here is one estimate that the inauguration will cost taxpayers about $115 million.

    http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/public-inauguration-just-show-likely-cost-taxpayers-over-100-million_665135.html

And that doesn't begin to get to the heart of the "party" which will be thrown by rich corporations and CEOS and wall street bankers who will all, no doubt, get some sort of corporate welfare down the road....

I know, I know - Democrats are for the little guy, Republicans are for the elite..... ::)

    Opinions vary.
I think it's the "good" posters who make this thing a huge bore.
Men chained together in prejudice are brothers, even men who don't like each other.
I like that we're starting to form ranks.
