    I'm confused, YF.

The radical liberal Barrack Obama does exactly what you and the right wing were begging him to do - let the payroll tax cut expire - and instead of coming out and saying, "man - he got that one right!," you seem to be just trying to score political points with it.

Call me crazy, but it's almost like - and I could be wrong - the Conservative Entertainment Complex (which I'm sure - based on your use of Rush talking points - you're a devotee of) is more interested in blaming Obama, instead of implementing policies they think are good for the country.

Unfortunately, you see blame in parliaments in most democracies. You don't energize your bad by getting along with the party in power. Along with that, a party in power often sees no benefit from compromising, as it is seen as betraying party principles and does not energize the base of the majority.

    It's the hypocrisy stupid.

He's for closing Gitmo, until he's in charge.

He's against gay marriage, until he's for it.

The payroll tax cut is vital, until it's not.

He's a deeply religious man -- a Christian convert as an adult even -- who regularly attends Church, but then doesn't attend, on Christmas even, when it's no longer politically necessary.

    Hypocrisy ... or politics.

Sometimes when governing, it means not getting everything you want. I don't expect you to understand that, though, since the Right Wing Screech machine abandoned actually trying to govern once they were tossed out on the street.

Nevertheless ... I'm glad that you're not being a hypocrite. Two years of arguing against the payroll tax credit, and now you're arguing the President should have lobbied to extend it. That seems pretty consistent on your part ....

.... and by consistent I mean the ironclad Republican policy of opposing every single thing the president does, even when it's exactly what you wanted to happen.

Would you be concerned if you knew Mitt Romney didn't go to church on Christmas?

Not at all. Your religion doesn't hold services on Christmas day.

    Nice try though.

The Republican Party doesn't care which side of an issue prevails anymore. The right-wingers just want to scream "Bloody hell!" at everything Obama says or does.

This is why Independents Americans despise the Republicans more.

You're such a dumbass. Haven't you read the bible? It specifically says only folks who go to church on Christmas Eve are REAL Christians.

The rest are fake Christians. Probably Muslim-Christians. ... or Kenyan Christians.

You can't get to heaven without going to church on Christmas Eve! You certainly can't profess to loving Jesus if you don't go to his birthday party.

I'm not arguing against the policy. The payroll tax should have never been cut. They're supposed to be dedicated taxes to fund specific programs. They stole from those programs, so they could give a tax cut to folks who don't pay income taxes.

But, why did the President allow them to expire now without a fight? Has something changed? Is the economy better off? Do folks not need their $40 anymore?

And, why has no one asked him these questions? Shouldn't he at least be asked to explain the apparent discrepancy? These cuts were so important just a year ago, and now they expire without a fight?

Compromise? Seems like it was something the right wing wanted and the President was willing to concede.

Again - that's how governing works: Not always getting everything you wanted.

Paine was a born loser and eccentric, but a mover and activator.
And one hell of a writer.
    Where is our Thomas Paine?
