There's a new kind of subdivision being planned in the outdoors paradise of North Idaho.

Think gated community/fortress. Think on-site munitions plant. Think neighbors who, just like you, love Freedom.

I'm talking about The Citadel: http://www.iiicitadel.com/

The Citadel is evolving as a planned community where residents are bound together by:

Patriotism
Pride in American Exceptionalism
Our proud history of Liberty as defined by our Founding Fathers, and
Physical preparedness to survive and prevail in the face of natural catastrophes — such as Hurricanes Sandy or Katrina — or man-made catastrophes such as a power grid failure or economic collapse.

The Citadel is not your typical planned community where the developer's objective is selling cookie-cutter homes at the highest possible profit-margin.

The Citadel is not profit-driven. The Citadel is Liberty-driven: specifically Thomas Jefferson's Rightful Liberty.

Marxists, Socialists, Liberals and Establishment Republicans will likely find that life in our community is incompatible with their existing ideology and preferred lifestyles.

Supposedly, 200 families have already reserved space in the complex.

Actually, it's more like a "compound" ... 2,000 to 3,000 acres, according to the news story. But so far, all they've bought is 20 acres for an administrative center.

Methinks the harsh reality was the intransigence of those on the left w.r.t. anything having to do with privatization. President Bush's musings -- which had to do with younger contributors having a choice about what to do with a portion of their payroll taxes -- deserved a better hearing than they got.

During which you can explain how the value of hundreds of thousands of private Social Security set-asides wouldn't have been swept away by the last Wall Street Ponzi scheme, and won't be put to the torch by the next one.

I love how they've chosen Benewah County as their first choice to locate their "Citadel". The county has a little more than 9,000 people. They plan on "buying" the 20,000 acres, although "There are several counties in Idaho that will work equally well for the Citadel Project if Benewah County fails to offer our Citadel Team suitable incentives."

As in, they probably want the county to make its residents give up their property by eminient domain, or some patriotic method like that.

It's not just a couple of goombahs in Maryland dreaming of a fortress. Glenn Beck has his "American Dream Labs," which include a $2 billion theme park/city. (I saw this on The Daily Show last night.)

It'll blow your mind in part because freedom-loving Glenn Beck won't allow an "Ann Taylor or Gap," and won't allow fireworks and hot dogs on the Fourth of July.

If you look at the comments, it doesn't appear Beck's most loyal followers are with him on this one. Though maybe they hadn't heard they can get a house with a gas mask chandelier.

Bush or Obama? Az, I would expect you, of all people on these boards, to want to see what really happened in Benghazi. Do you think lying to the American people about some kind of "spontaneous protest" over a video when it was obviously something else a crime? Tell me this, if the foreign press had never released the pictures of the embassy attack, showing no protest beforehand and a coordinated group of well-armed terrorists working with each other and people on the inside, we would yet know about what happened?

I think Bush and Obama are guilty of the same sin...using false intelligence to paint a picture to the American people that was not based in reality. And doing so knowingly. They should both be held to account for their sins.

Is lying at a congressional hearing a crime? Is allowing Marines to die, by inaction and possibly by design, not treason? We do not know what happened because it has been covered up. Can I say crimes were committed by the Administration with certainty? No. Can you say, with certainty, that they weren't? Again, no. Until the Administration is forthcoming about what happened we will not know. And so far their track record on truthfulness about Benghazi has been deplorable.

That's my point...we DON'T know what happened. We should. The Administration has not been forthcoming. We deserve to know the entire truth...mistakes and all.
