Another guy who's helpless, outside the Fox/Beck Echo Chamber. How's Fantasyland treating you, Bunky?

Funny question from someone who has his head so far up the president's ass he could brush the back of his teeth.

I know I'm always impressed by the selflessness of those who, to further their own pet causes, use the state to enjoin others. That's some serious sainthood material there, let me tell you.

Off the top of my head, I can't think of any instances of Group X using the power of the state to compel others to behave in some manner of which Group X approves. I must have been imagining it ... [/bluefont]

Yeah, you probably should thank him for articulating the point with erudition you never could hope to achieve.

You would know all about that.
As someone said, you're the Malak to someone else's Conan.
Malak eventually became a jester. You would be very good at that, I think.

As someone said? Well, it certainly wasn't you, since you lack clarity, humor and originality.

But no specific example relative to Alma's point?

Chuck Todd asks Leon Panetta about Zero Dark 30, and if "enhanced interrogation techniques or torture" was used to get information that led to bin Laden.

Panetta tells us the "real story":

    This seems sort of definitive.

You mean his taking our feeling threatened by the federal government (vis-a-vis our "personal rights and freedoms") as a sign of our self-interestedness? Not only that, but as evidence of our hating "anybody who wants to tell us anything, ask anything, take anything, do anything"?

Before I proffer an example, I just need to be clear as to the challenge you've set before me.

Whatever example I raise, it will have to involve a particular interest strapping on the power of the federal government in an attempt to coerce everyone else (i.e., those not partial to that particular interest's worldview) to behave as that particular interest would have them behave. Do I have that about right?
