You'll all be glad to know the state legislators in Idaho are busy protecting their residents from non-existent gun seizures by the feds:

The sequester of the SJ political thread is over.

  3. Cloture motion on Hagel nomination passes 71-27 (18 Republicans joined Democrats), with actual vote on nomination taking place at 4:30.

If they were going to let him in anyway, I don't understand why they even held it up in the first place. Not just political hackery, but dumb political hackery

  5. The hackery shows a good number of Republican Senators apparently don't care about dead ambassadors any more than Democratic Senators.

Hagel has nothing to do with dead ambassadors. But it should be noted, going by the line of reasoning, the American voters apparently didn't care about dead ambassadors, either

Perhaps they were just taking preventative measures in case some of the "non-existent" ideas started creeping over the border from Washington (this is a couple of weeks old, so apologies if it was mentioned on the other gun thread or here before the temporary restraining order):

You telegraphed that roundhouse coming out of your corner. :D I was playing my setup role

  10. Did the Obama administration do anything to satisfy some of the GOP regarding Benghazi in the past few weeks, since that was the main reason why the first cloture motion failed?

(Edit: The administration sent a letter to senators Feb. 15.)

I dunno, Cap'n, but the GOP was holding apples hostage over oranges. Which is silly, because the House GOP can make Libya the centerpiece of the inevitable impeachment hearings any ole time

How is more fucking spending going to revive anything? The last stimulus just rewarded his campaign supporters. That's all a new one would be.
Obama has one objective and that's, as, was it MSNBC's chief told him at the inauguration, destroy the GOP.
