Meanwhile, Boehner is pissed off that Obama "is using the military as props."

I'm sure he was just ripping on the previous guy when that guy was pretending to land a plane on an aircraft carrier, right?

Aren't the full-dress military personnel assigned to these state dinners ceremonial and ornamental by definition?

She was doing the Oscars' live shot from the Governor's dinner at the White House.

The entirely ceremonial, completely ornamental military personnel were already present.

I thought having them in the background was a nice reminder of our servicemen and women without all the usual sentimentalized breast-beating about patriotism.

  8. The concern is noted. But then you have to be concerned anytime soldiers are used for propaganda purposes, which goes into many areas people don't want to discuss because it calls into question one's patriotism.

Really not a lot different from singing GBA at baseball games in honor of our uniformed personal. We can never thank them enough for what they do for protecting our freedom and way of life.

  10. Which ways are appropriate? I'd also disagree with your assertion the country's military capability will be gutted, unless you were being facetious.

    Fine.

But why argue on behalf of the Brietbart pretense that the dress military were there only for the Oscars live shot?

And aren't by definition already entirely ornamental whenever they attend a White House function?
