And why do we think this was any kind of threat?

Telling someone they'll "regret" something is just as often a statement of worry or concern or empathy as it is a warning.

 

If we are to believe Woodward the "you'll regret " quote was preceded by a half hour of Sperling screaming at Woodward over the column coming out Sunday saying that the sequester was Obama idea first brought to Harry Reid on July 27th 2011.

 

What exactly would they threaten him with?

 

Woodward - nothing because he does not care. But it does show a pattern that rings true.

This is one of the rare times that someone has challenged Obama on a discrepancy and The White House is not handling it well.

 

How can a rare thing show a pattern?
