No idea if this can have its own thread, but it needs to be discussed somewhere.

A black, openly gay, Democratic candidate for mayor of Clarksdale, Miss., has been found dead in a suspected homicide. It feels awful to say that I hope it's not to do with any of those things, but ...

Incidentally, the outgoing mayor is the brother of Mike Espy, and one of the other candidates is the outgoing mayor's son.

Good grief, read his email back to the guy who "threatened" him. Sure sounded awfully cordial to me. Not the type of email I'd send back to a White House official who had actually threatened me.

Good Lord...that is awful. And I agree, you hope it had nothing to do with any of those things, but there is no other possible motivation mentioned. Feel horrible for his family and those political followers who put their faith in him.

So who made the ultimate decision for MSNBC to become the counter-point to FoxNews?Seems like an obvious decision, and tardy too. But it has worked. Fox ratings from 8-11pm East Coast Time are down. O'Reilly and Hannity just aren't cutting it anymore.

Well, the haters decided to flock to something they love. So love wins out over hate.

But Fox is still the ratings leader, last I saw.

Yeah, that's some real Stalin-level shit. I predict within a week, we won't even know that Woodward ever existed.

Wow, America must be a majority conservative country, no? That clinches it. Just wait until a national election. MSNBC, the New York Times, and other mainstream media will realize how out of step they are with the silent majority.

Kind of. But if you look at it broadly, FoxNews, which brands itself as the Fair and Balanced news source is significantly behind the aggregate of news sources which Fox labels the main stream media (MSM).
So while Fox is the ratings leader as a single entitly, but Fox is a distinct minority and niche when looking at Fox v MSM.

BTW about 25 million people watch NBC, CBS and ABC evening news, daily. The Fox Report, FoxNews evening news broadcast never breaks 2 million.

  9. I'm sad to think you think discrediting Woodward is a new trend. It happened when he served as cheerleader for the Bush administration's foreign policy.

Folks on my side of the political aisle whose arguments embarrass me:

    dog eat dog world

Folks on the other side of the political argument I wish were on my side:

    Azrael
    Dick Whitman

Folks on my side of the aisle I'm glad to have on my side:

    doctorquant

Folks whose arguments are so embarrassing, I'm glad they're not on my side:

    Baron Scicluna
    93Devil

    Go!

(I reserve the right to add to this list, and I assume we're all embarrassed by Mark2010's posts.)

Your credibility is lacking in your spelling. If it works against me, it works against you.

I have no credibility when it comes to spelling. I know that.
