I love it. By making her opening statement, Lerner, in effect, waived her Fifth Amendment rights. Issa plans to bring her back, and if she doesn't answer questions he'll hold her in contempt.

Of course, that's not at all what the story says. One legal expert said that if it was a criminal case, she might have waived. The other legal experts said she hadn't waived.

Issa is becoming Inspector Javert right in front of us. Also, if he asked me for directions to the bathroom, I'd plead the fifth and scurry away as quickly as possible.

If anybody knows criminal law in Congress, it would be the arsonist/auto thief.

Starting to wonder if Obama political advisers decided to dump all these
so called scandals on the marketplace at once to confuse people and
clear the decks for next election season when they have all fizzled out.

I'm starting to think we need to replace "Hail to the Chief" with "Yakity Sax" for the remainder of this abortion of a presidency.

How would a Republican president - say John McCain - have better handled the financial crisis at the beginning of 2009? What would be different? How would that make things better?

Tom Cotton (R-Crazyville) proposed to punish children for the sins of their fathers or grandfathers.

Well, we know he couldn't possibly have blown more money on crony capitalism to supporters for soon-to-be bankrupt "green" (more accurately, "greed") energy companies. We know that creditors wouldn't have been sold out for unions in the GM bailout.
