LAG signed him because it's a publicity grab first. Soccer is good about being different. "Hey, we're the first to have a gay star!" As I recall..your media compadres began demanding that someone sign him. Before he outed himself, he was unemployed.

 

Yet another one of Rip's "Look at me! Look at me!" posts.

 

He's a player in his mid-20s who has played for the USMNT. He was unemployed because he asked to be released. He was not signed due to his sexuality. He was signed because he can contribute to the club.

I think the soccer talk should cause the thread to be locked again. That is worse than anything that was said earlier that led to the last lock.

We're all Americans here, we can agree that soccer should be treated with extreme prejudice.

 

This should be on the tornado page but Moore Public Schools issued a statement on their Facebook page that dispels rumors that the teacher who said "I did what we teachers are not supposed to do..I prayed" when in the school that was destroyed was not fired...and adds to please be advised many of our teachers and administrators will continue to pray as the recovery effort continues. Don't believe me? Access their FB page.

 

A public apology would be nice.
