So in a state run by Democrats, it's the Republicans' fault?

GOP continues to build bigger tent as a county leader in Illinois says a biracial former Miss America is being used as a "streetwalker" in the race for a House seat, and that the Harvard Law graduate will eventually get hired by a law firm that needs to fill a minority quota.

    Big tent! Inclusion!

Republican governor and Republican state legislature. So in what ways is the state being run by Democrats? Is there a supreme being there in Iran who is a Democrat and takes what the elected government says under advisement? Or did you just assume because it votes Democratic at the presidential level that it must be a state run by Democrats? That mean Virginia is run by Democrats, too?

At least Rome actually fought the Visigoths before it was curtains.
Wimp president and his Congress practically hand the keys to China and ask them to please come put a boot up our ass.

And Coolidge would cringe at all of it . . . just another reason why the current GOP boosting of Silent Cal is beyond hysterical . . . CC couldn't get elected Chief Men's Room Attendant on a national ticket, today . . .

Can't decide whether you're asserting that as a slam on the GOP or the general electorate.

"They are not looking at names and they are not looking at content."

"No one is listening to your calls."

    What a liar.

    Shrug

I'm probably the only reporter here whose had actual calls collected on a federal wiretap.

A public official was under investigation, feds were wiretapping his calls, some of those calls were to me. They were recorded but then minimized. As were his dirty talk/sexy time calls to a mistress/girlfriend.

Calls kept were the ones trying to arrange kickbacks and such. Or the ones where he was placing bets with the local bookie.

If you understand the mechanics of wiretaps — the technology and people needs — you'd have a better understanding of what is involved.

Think about a security camera. Almost all of them aren't recording 24 hours a day and saving all that video. They record at random times or follow a pattern and recording at different intervals.

Because you don't have enough memory on a hard drive to record all that video. You don't have the people to monitor it live 24 hours a day and you don't have the people or resources to watch the video from start to finish when something does happen.

You fast forward through what you have until you see something.

Seriously, have you not watched an episode of Law and Order?

Sorry, I had trouble getting past your shrugging off the complete surrender of your civil liberties, simply because of who is in the White House.

    Shrug.

    Sad.
