Never read his book and I hesitate to take your word for anything, but let's assume that quote is correct. It still doesn't wish ill on the United States. You do realize there are American Muslims, right?

I see a difference between predicting the country is going down the toilet (even if i disagree) and wanting to flush the handle.

No. He was misquoted in your post. And even your version of what he said isn't even close to wishing ill on the United States. But just for the sake of honesty, here's the actual quote:

There is a difference between hoping the president fails and hoping his agenda fails. You know that. I hope his liberal agenda fails as well. I wish he would have failed when his NSA was spying on American citizens. I wish he would have failed to jam his destructive health care law through. He wants to do things I am fundamentally against, and I hope he fails to enact each and every one of them. That doesn't make me anti-american...it makes me a conservative.

Geez, look right there how Tony twists and distorts the truth. What a shit.

Might as well be talking to an empty chair.

But what if his agenda makes the country a better place, even if you're fundamentally against his agenda?

Heck, if Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy had spurred job growth and raised the economic welfare for everyone, if he'd found WMDs in Iraq and prevented multiple terrorist attacks by that country against us, and all women would magically wish to give up their unwanted newborns for adoption, then I'd give credit where it's due. I even give Guiliani credit for helping to revitalize NYC, even if he is a Republican.

Yup. Because when you say Obama was misquoted in his own book I'm going to give it all the non-response it deserves.

He didn't say Obama was misquoted in his own book. You're the one saying that, O_T, and you've just been proven wrong. Again.

The point is, it hasn't. Do I wish Obama's stimulus would have caused the economy to rebound...for unemployment to plummet and for the real estate market to roar back? Of course I do. However, none of those things...things he promised...have happened. The stimulus was a giant payoff that didn't stimulate anything. Obamacare is a fiasco and even the biggest proponents are starting to worry about it. Unemployment is still high. Obama has failed and he refuses to even consider changing course. That's the problem.

Thank you. Obviously, tony butchered the quote, either intentionally or through incompetence. The sad part is he still failed. Even the butchered version of the quote does not wish ill on the United States.

In the correct quote, Obama is clearly talking about supporting Americans who are Muslims, so Tony is trying to slam the President of the United States for a past promise to stand up for American citizens.

Try again, tony. Find us an actual quote from Obama in which he wishes ill on the United States the way DEDW did. Try doing it honestly this time.

Or you can just admit the truth. You would rather support a Republican like DEDW who just wished that two foreign nations would "bring our asses down" than the president of the United States. Hail to the party, tony. That's all you really understand.

Ben, my issue is with Republicans like tony and DEDW who revel in those problems. They are actually happy when something bad happens to this country because they get to blame it on the Democrat in the White House.

I have less of a problem with fart boy's comment throwing his hands up and giving up on us that way than I do with tony and DEDW actually rooting for failure, but I don't care for either approach.
