Or maybe they knew he hadn't been in three states?

OK. So your paper is irrelevant when it comes to national news stories.

Which does nothing to undermine the idea that the national media latches onto a narrative early on in big cases, and often, they don't even bother to write the narrative.

In the case of the Trayvon Martin killing, the narrative was written by PR professionals, and swallowed whole by the media. It was even promoted by media members, like Charles Blow, who went on cable TV shows to pedle it.

In the case of Obama, the media just adopted the narrative he created for himself in his two autobiographies, and his highly aspirational speeches.

DOn't take my word for it in regards to Obama. Take the word of Charlie Rose and Tom Brokaw.

    Speaking of media narratives:

    "Cut and Run"

Politics is all about competing narratives, stories of the day, staying on message, etc.

The job of political professionals is to get their narrative to be the accepted media version.

They also try to define their opponent(s), and deploy war rooms to fight off any challenge to their carefully crafted storyline.

No candidate had an easier time getting the media to accept his personal narrative than Barack Obama.

First let me apologize; I shouldn't have called your girlfriend an idiot. It's her contention that is idiotic.

The law is quite specific about when one is a citizen at birth. It's not as simple as "born to an American citizen," but it doesn't matter. Neither does it matter that the circumstances of one's birth might result in dual citizenship for a time.

President Obama is a natural born citizen. So is Ted Cruz. It doesn't matter what some numbnuts said or argued in the past.

I hope you don't have any of those photos saved on your computer because if that really was Stanley Ann Dunham, she was 15 at the time they were taken and I'd hate for you to get in any sort of trouble with the law.

I do like the universalism involved in the hearty declarations Obama is natural.
What the fuck do you guys think you really know?
Do you put it past your government to fabricate a simple document?
    Are you that uncritical?

I love this. SoS Kerry outlines what Assad could do to avoid a U.S. airstrike.

State Department has to clarify that he was speaking "rhetorically", and there's actually nothing Assad can do.

UN ambassador Samantha Power is on board with the idea that we must "Bomb Syria, even if it's illegal":

Al Sharpton has done more damage to the black cause than George Wallace. He has suffocated the decent black leaders in New York. His transparent venal blackmail and extortion schemes taint all black leadership.

Let me ask you something, sincerely.
Why the artificial Chicago accent when he didn't live there until he was a young man?
Does this affectation not seem like overcompensating of sorts? Or is it just a political ploy?
