Was anyone given any indication that Romney would have been better than Obama? I mean the current guy isn't exactly floating my boat, but unless the GOP could go back in time and offer up another candidate, there isn't exactly buyer's remorse either. I'm not sure he'd have done anything differently than this current president. Maybe he'd have been more aggressive about bombing Syria already. But is that necessarily a good thing?

This is no way to conduct foreign policy after five years of on the job training.

As far as the GOP goes, they are a complete clusterfuck of an organization.

I am ready for a viable third party.

Obama has never held a real job in his life.
The life credentials between the two are not even comparable.

I'm honestly not crazy about it, for the same reason that I just said above. There's evil all over the world. If China or Russia started using WMDs on its people, would we start attacking them? Highly unlikely, unless we want WWIII. Besides it's proximity to Israel (which I agree, is a major point), what makes Syria so special?

But I do, like I said when this thread reopened, find it funny that many of the same people who were so gung-ho earlier about Iraq are suddenly cautious about Syria, even though, if true, there's an immediate threat of WMD attacks to its populace, unlike Iraq, in which Saddam had basically been neutered.

Do you not think the loss of credibility by the Commander in Chief might have something to do with people not wanting American assets deployed again in the Middle East? I know I have no faith in Obama to successfully manage a bowel movement, let alone another war.

Think of it this way. If we just went into Afghanistan, with no Iraq war, would we be so hesitant to go into Syria now?

That's a great point...but does not excuse or justify this administration going into Syria. I think we would still be hesitant because, face it, Obama has a five-year track record now. His foreign policy thus far does not exactly inspire a great deal of confidence.

Tell me this...are you not at the point where you want to say, "Enough is enough?" Regardless of what Bush did or what he didn't do, that was a long time ago. Obama has had five years...over a full term, to put his stamp on things. Looking at Bush does not fly anymore...granted, Bush was an idiot. His handling of the war in Iraq was bumbling to say the least. None of that matters now.

Seriously? How about not:
Pulling the missile shield from Poland and the Czech Republic, negotiating away various US nuclear weapons capacity with Russia without receiving much in return in the START Treaty, talking about further unilateral cuts to the US nuclear arsenal without any cuts made by US adversaries or enemy states, pulling out of Iraq without a status of forces agreement, announcing a partial surge in Afghanistan, while announcing...at the same time... a withdrawal in Afghanistan, withdrawing his support for 30 year old ally Mubarak in Egypt and supported Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood, telling Israel it should negotiate a return of territory based upon pre-1967 borders, threatening and not doing anything against Iranian nuclear development, failing to support the democratic forces in Iranian (Green Revolution Movement) against the Mullahs at the start of his presidency, supporting the would-be dictator of Honduras against that country's legislature and national court, lying about the facts surrounding Benghazi and placing the blame on a video about Mohammed, failing to respond in any way, even to this day, to the attack on the consulate at Benghazi, etc., etc., etc.

His foreign policy has been a nightmare. The only stamp he has put on it is one of incompetence and it's a shame you can't see that.

Let's see:

Poland and Czech Republic aren't exactly in danger of going to war with anyone.

You do also realize that we have enough nukes to destroy the whole world, multiple times over, don't you? Cutting back on them ain't exactly leaving us at that much risk. Besides, as much of an asshole Putin is, he's not threatening to bury us if we don't adopt Communism.

We knew going in that Afghanistan was going to be a mess. Even Bush, as much that I disagree with him on nearly everything, admitted it would be so when we started. The surge was designed to settle things down, then once it did, relatively speaking for Afghanistan, Obama listened to the public and announced the withdrawal. The public was tired of war, getting rid of OBL not withstanding. If there wasn't a withdrawal, the screechers would be complaning he was ignoring the will of the public. Make up your minds.

Mubarak dug his own grave and we supported the democratic movement. It's not Obama's fault that the Muslim Brotherhood was elected.

Israel has offered in the past to give up territory, including at one point, giving Arafat 95 percent of what he wanted. They were rejected. Maybe those countries should stop whining about the territory they lost when they attacked another country.

And what would you have wanted him to do in Iran, send in troops? Look at the fuss now over WMDs in Syria. You want to send in troops because you don't like the results of an election.

He didn't lie about Benghazi, they got the talking points wrong. Unlike Bush in Iraq, he only had a couple of days to find out what happened and got it wrong. This is the same argument the righties use about Bush and Iraq. Bush didn't lie, he just got his facts wrong, right? And by the way, whatever happened to Benghazi being an impeachable offense. Oh, I know, just like the IRS scandal, once the real facts came out, it made the Republicans look like a bunch of idiots.
