What does Charles Blow think of this, since he's the tone setter for The Media? Also, too, what are his thought on the Oklahoma State stories in SI? I'm doing a radio segment later and need The NarrativeTM beforehand.

I don't know Inky. The fallout shelter for Journolist appears to be down. I'm guessing it crashed because of all the Syrian activity.

Have you checked David Grann's Twitter feed yet? His second morning retweet is what typically sets the tone for The NarrativeTM of the day. Never the first though. That's usually some bullshit picture.

Loving some of the Politico headlines:

    The United States of weakness

    Obama's accidental diplomacy

    Woodward: Obama has 'no plan'

    Unbelievably Kerry

Rather give that tax money to those who do not work for it, and tell the kids they CAN'T pray in school, no matter how badly they might want to, right?

_____________ works until we run out of other people's money.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to do that, since I'm going to a National Park later.

In the most basic sense, that's what taxes are. you take money from those who earned it to pay for things for everybody, including those who didn't earn it. Of course, it's more complicated than that. For one thing, not everybody has the same opportunity to earn it.

Regarding the other thing, I know some people don't get the separation of church and state. That is a particularly difficult concept for people who fall among the majority when it comes to religion. I'm not sure if that includes you or not, but those people just don't understand that you can't have religion in schools without some faiths being favored over others. It's going to happen just by simple numbers.

You want to practice your faith, do it at home, your chosen house of worship or anywhere else you gather but the schools and government offices. That's the only way to guarantee true religious freedom for everybody. Most of the founders of this country understood that. Then again, for most Conservatives, the only time the wisdom of the founders matters is when it serves their arguments.

Edit: This is a response to Ben's last post, the one bogged down with a bunch of quotes, not Inky's.

I'm no Republican, but YF hit this one on the screws.

Obama is fumbling around for a convincing reason to bomb Syria.

Bush locked in on a reason to invade Iraq even though the evidence was lacking.

    Neither is showing/showed good leadership.

Yay, 1 percenters! Largest share of income in the IRS' 100-year recorded history!

Take that, 1927 and your ominous standing in the "rising tide lifts all boats" history of America!

Or do it on your own at those places, which is and has always been perfectly legal.

Also true. Just saying it is completely fair and necessary to have some restriction in those places.

The administration has been waving a big stick and now appears to be nearing a diplomatic solution. I don't see how it can work much better than that.
