Yeah, because it's embarrassing to speak candidly during real-world situations.

He will have to endure a presidential Republican primary. Praising Barack Obama, in any situation, will not serve him well. At all. Huntsman's campaign was a non-starter, partly because of a thank-you note he wrote to Obama that the Obama campaign leaked.

More poll wackiness. NPR poll has Romney +1. A month ago, they were Obama +7.

Here's what I don't get though, the poll was taken between the 23rd & 25th. It was just released this morning.

Does it take 5 days to tabulate the results? With only 7 days left before the election, why release a poll that's 5 to 8 days old?

The latest meme is that Nate Silver "hedges."

Fuck yeah, he "hedges." He writes a whole chapter in his book about how he "hedges" and why. It's essentially the entire foundation of his operation.

This is just an incredible lack of self-awareness. A right-winger complaining about other people "reducing women to their sex parts" in reference to the Lena Dunham kerfluffle? There's never been greater evidence of the way the right does exactly that than the past few weeks.

Male Republican Congressional candidates opining about rape being "God's will"? That's fine. But a woman discussing SEX!!!!!! in a political context? UNACCEPTABLE. Ladies, the message is abundantly clear: to the Republican party, you aren't deserving of sexual agency. Women are there to be sexed ON.

It's nothing new for Christie. One may disagree with his politics, but he's always straight-up:

You think they're nasty based on hard-left blogs that don't know a thing about them other than they oppose the nanny state that sucks EVERYONE's freedom away. Your side thinks that makes them nasty. Your side is wrong.

It being NPR, maybe they didn't like the results so they delayed.

You'd think at a site for journalists (current and former) people would be better than this at listening to what's actually said ...

EDIT: Fixed typo. Was not talking about how people aren't good at listing (i.e., leaning one way or the other) but listening.
