You're right. I must be imagining that more folks than ever identify as libertarians considering the lousy numbers this guy generates nationally.

I'll say this for him: Unlike Romney, you know exactly where this guy stands and it doesn't change by the hour and by the audience.

That's why a seat at the table for third-party candidates would be a boon for the American people. Someone with nothing to lose pushing both candidates to not hide behind obfuscations and talking points.

The choice to let them eat cake isn't always that difficult for people.

Go to the bottom and see the list of 40 just from Jan. 2011 through January of this year and the staggering costs.

I agree. Romney is at best, a Herman Munster looking media whore.

Yeah, for many that's the easy part of libertarianism. The hard part's when you realize that: 1) you may find yourself much more on your own economically; and 2) that whole mind-your-own-business bit means more than just getting to doob it up when you want to.

Also, a lot of your garden-variety Libertarians are just kooky. I mean, in my neck of the woods we have a pizza deliveryman* running for a seat in the state legislature. Come on. If the LP can't come up with a better candidate than that, then it simply shouldn't field a candidate.

*Not that there's anything inherently shameful about being a pizza deliveryman. But if you're in your 30s or 40s and you're still delivering pizzas, you probably need to think about getting your career act together before you start running for public office.

They mostly seem like good, common-sense responses to genuine issues/problems we face, especially the Dodd-Frank requirements that only begin to get a handle on the out-of-control financial services industry. Greater transparency, consumer protection, safety -- nothing in there that seems over-stepping or overly burdensome.

But I'm sure the Chamber of Commerce views paying someone a fair wage or improving consumer safety or cracking down on predatory practices as catastrophic events for business.

Isn't that the luxury of knowing you're going to get less that 2% of the vote?

You're advancing ideas, not pandering for votes.

Meanwhile Charles Pierce decided who he's voting for. In a narrow decision, he went with Obama -- over Jill Stein.

How come she hasn't gotten more support? LOL.

Now Cran, it's obvious regulating air bag standards is a detriment to American business.

This story is likely to hurt your head with nerd stuff, but here's an in-depth look at how Obama and the Democrats are using data to their advantage.
