Silver and all the other poll aggregation folks acknowledge there's a gap between the national polls (even or Romney slightly ahead) and the state poll averages (Obama slightly ahead). It's really more of a field experiment for them. Remember, there haven't been enough presidential elections with polling data to establish reliable statistical models. This is basic research in the "it's when you don't know what the hell you're looking" variety.

Nah, that will wait until Mitt gets to appoint a couple more Scalia pom-pom shakers to the USSC.

But if the GOP takes control of both houses, the filibuster will go bye-bye. Hasta la vista. Everything goes to a voice vote. All legislation will come straight from the boiler room of ALEC, and then ram ram ram.

The exact same thing they've done in every state legislature they've taken over: They get rid of all procedural or administrative brakes or roadblocks (filibusters, committee holds, quorums), designate everything as 'emergency legislation' that must be enacted right now, right this second, steamroll over any and all opposition, and then it's just ram ram ram.

They've put so much energy into taking over, they're not going to waste any time once they do. Ram ram ram.

They know with demographic trends, they may never get another chance, so they have to ram through everything they can as fast as they can. Ram ram ram.

Holy shit. It never stops. GOP congressional candidate in Washington says abortion should not be legal even after "the rape thing."

"But on the rape thing, it's like, how does putting more violence onto a woman's body and taking the life of an innocent child that's a consequence of this crime, how does that make it better?"

Very INTERESTING (one of my favorite political weasel words) how persistent the GOPbaggers are to come up with rationalizations, justifications and general alibis for rape.

    Yes, very interesting.

Jonathan Chait's concise, well-reasoned and cogent anti-endorsement of Romney.

    You are a fucking asshole.

First of all, regardless of what anyone did in the past, your comment is disgraceful, and you should be ashamed of yourself.

Secondly, you're a cowardly sock puppet, who takes advantage of a "no rules" thread to make disgusting and/or personal comments without even owning up to your anonymous handle and posting history.

Thirdly, I don't know how you could suppose to know who sent an anonymous email to someone's employer. Absent any facts, you choose to believe Tony the guilty party because others have decided it to be so.

Anyone who gives you an ounce of respect is giving you an once more than you deserve.

    Not drinking that cool-aid. Sorry.

They should seriously consider postponing the election or extending voting days in areas that were severly affected by Sandy.

I don't need protection. The 12-gauge is loaded, and I know how to shoot.

Six days from now, one of the best TV viewing nights of the year. I can't wait.

Since when do you need to know how to shoot with a 12-gauge, tough guy?

Tough guy? You can do better than that.

And when you grow up hunting, you know how to shoot from an early age.
