When Zag punches himself out, tires, and slinks back to his lair, someone send up a flare. The politics thread is far more enjoyable when you don't have to shout over his "NO ONE HERE IS AS FUCKING SMART AS ME!" schtick.

Translation - "I want this to go back to the nice little liberal circle jerk off and reach around thread where we can all make fun of Old Tony and Mark2010, never be challenged for our Kool Aid drinking foofery and fantasize over Barry Obama in a thong."

Not that I ever agree with them but the political conversation is a lot more interesting when GeoergeFHayek and YankeeFan are around. You right wingers really, really need some help. We've already got Zeke sitting on the bench because it's such a rout.

Maybe we should put Boom on waivers so you guys can claim him back? He's well-read, often funny, and knows how to use the quote function -- the kind of skills you guys need.

Wrong. I like debating/discussing things with YF and Creoste and Hokie and several other conservatives. I ignore Tony's mindless trolling as much as possible. You'd just the loudest drunk in the bar, the guy who waddles across the room and injects himself into a conversation that was already on-going while spilling his beer on my hippie sandals and jabbing his fat finger into the chests of anyone who doesn't immediately wander away, pretending to look for the jukebox. I could rather easily make a case for the President's reelection, but you're response would be to fart the alphabet and eat the urinal cakes before telling me how stooooopid I am, so it's really not worth it.

In all seriousness - if Barack Obama is doing such a great job, why is a guy who won 53 percent of the popular vote and 365 electoral votes (he won by nearly 200) - a landslide by any measure - sweating out this one?

If he is doing a great job and "delivered on his promises" - shouldn't those numbers be close to holding, especially given how weak his opponent is?

Shouldn't he be, in these final days, just putting the finishing touches on the themes for his next four years instead of campaigning like a mad man to make sure he holds on?

I mean, say whatever you want about George W. Bush but his numbers in 2000 were 271 (by the skin of his teeth) and 48 percent (he actually lost popular vote by a few percentages) -- but in the 2004 election he won 286 Ev's and gained nearly three percent (he had 50.7) of the popular vote.

So his numbers got better for his second election cycle, not worse, and while I realize Obama's numbers were so good in 2008 they would be tough to duplicate, but this is a pretty drop off for a guy who has "delivered on his promises"

I usually disagree with Zag politically but his posts are entertaining.

But wait ... You and I are in agreement, and yet you said that you never agree with me. The "liar's paradox" version of Gödel's Incompleteness Theorem rears its ugly head!

More circle jerking off for your reach around buddies "Yeah, we sure showed him, you like that line about my hippie sandals...."

And no, you could not and have not made a case for Obama to get four more years. I've read your drivel and it is nonsense, absent of facts and more Kool Aid drinking bullshit.

    Get some new material.

That's why he should be a shoo-in for a second term.

If voters believed in him so strongly in 2008, they should believe again. And if they don't, why not?

Anyway, I rather enjoy zag's posts in this thread. Nothing wrong with a loud fly in the ointment to break up the screaming of the idealogues. But then, I don't seek substantive ideas in this thread.

Why should I? The election is a fait accompli. All the talk about close polls is window dressing.
