Here's my point: We're all in this shithole together. If the Republican have a theory to make things better, why not share it? If you don't want to share it, shut the fuck up. The country is headed towards a revolution.

How did GWB's stock improve from 2000 to 2004?

Except, I am not a right winger.

How do I know this, well, let me count the ways....

I believe gays, straights, horses, polagimists - whoever the fuck wants to marry should be allowed to marry.

I don't believe we need prayers in schools. Pray at home.

I believe abortion is morally wrong and would like to see some restrictions kept in place - but I am
a pragmatist and understand why it needs to be and should be a legal option.

I think the defense budget needs to be slashed as much as the budget of just about every other facet of our government.

I think corporate welfare - tax loopholes for businesses - whatever the hell you want to call them should be eliminated and could be and the government could still get its money if there was a reworking of the tax code.

I do think we should cut the budget and taxes but I am quite sure my ideas are far different from those of true right wingers.

I think the FCC needs to lighten the fuck up and allow people to make their own choices about what is on television and the radio.

I don't think prostitution should illegal and I think people who spend their every waking hour protesting the opening of strip clubs need to go to back to their church picnincs and leave the rest of us the hell alone.

    You want me to continue?

The truth is, so-called conservatives and right wingers are no longer conservative, they are just liberals who go to church too much.

Oh but wait, I don't stroke off at the thought of Barack Obama, therefore I am a right winger, my bad.....

This is the question I am asking - he was so overwhelmingly popular when he didn't have to run on his record, now that he has "delivered on his promises" - shouldn't he be even more popular?

One answer: His opponent isn't actually that weak.

To analogize to sports, what you are asking is this: Oklahoma clobbered Kansas. Shouldn't they have clobbered Notre Dame, too?

Well if that's the case you would think the man who "ended the war in Iraq", "caught and killed Bin Laden" and is "kicking ass in Afghanistan" would have numbers soaring through the roof!

There are plenty of people who would have been interested in voting for John McCain four years ago until he picked a cartoon character as his running mate.

You're not a wingnut, and I have never claimed you were such. You're just an asshole. And frankly, an asshole can be enjoyable if he has a sense of humor. Norin is a dick who occasionally graduates to being an asshole, but I enjoy his posts. You just can't resist insulting everyone at every turn in manic stretches until you tire out and disappear for another month. THAT is your gimmick, not pooping on liberals, smearing their faces it it while you high-five your friends, or speaking truth to a delusional right wing. You're a smart guy who has zero interest in having any real discussion. Someone who called posters of both ideologies on their bullshit without calling them STOOPID FUCKING RETARDS every two paragraphs would be an enjoyable presence here. If you ever get done hording canned goods and fortifying the steel door in your basement for when the Others come, please calm down and join the discussion here.

I also think, although the lefty-er of the board may disagree with me, that the Presidential electorate is more inclined toward Republican candidates. Put another way, the prevailing winds have to blow stronger for the Democrat than they do for the Republican.

That is really just stupid -

What is Mitt Romney's base constituent?

Seriously - conservatives don't like the guy, don't trust the guy and the only reason they are even considering him is because they hate Obama.

Moderates thing he is a flip flopper

Many Christians are cynical about his religion

Liberals hate him because he is rich.

Hell he is even getting blown out in his own state.

This candidate is as weak as any I can remember, probably since Michael Dukakis.

The only reason he has a prayer - and it is really just that, a prayer as he isn't winning - is Obama.

I think the electorate, meaning registered voters, are split pretty evenly. Republicans are more likely to vote, essentially. They're more reliable. For now, at least, elections seem to be battles not of persuasion for a candidate or an ideology, but persuasion to get to the polls. Particularly for Democrats.

Bush went from running against the VP of a popular incumbent to running as a "don't-change-horses-midstream" incumbent still somewhat riding 9/11. He had little place to go but up.

Obama no longer has the two biggest factors in his first win: The chance to vote for the first black president and running against the ghost of the very unpopular George Bush.

Of course his numbers have retracted.
