If Romney is elected, I do not believe we will have war with Iran. The country doesn't want it, and the resulting $9 a gallon gasoline would sink the continued weak economic growth I believe we'll otherwise get with either guy in office.
I DO believe that Romney would result in a significant increase in poverty due to slashing government support programs, and that we'd see the same feckless administration of the government as we did under G.W. Bush, as it'd be mostly the same folks administering it.

It can happen if the ad is very powerful. In the Prop 8 election in California, there was an ad of a wild-eyed Gavin Newsom telling the world gay marriage was going to be legal "whether you like it or not!" He was really unhinged.

I'm convinced that without that ad, Prop 8 fails and gay marriage is legal in California.

    Frothing at the mouth?

Sorry, get your "liberal talking point insults" correct.

The neo-cons who hate gay people are frothing at the mouth.

Us Libertarians are just heartless bastards.

    Study it, get it right.

Someone earlier made the point that just because someone says something you disagree with, that doesn't mean they're lying. Just because someone hides behind weasel words, that doesn't mean they're lying. President Obama says he wants to "invest" in some such thing or another. If I say it's not an investment, just a sop payment to some special interest or another, I'd still be wrong to say he's lying.

Plus the deficit would grow because of the reduced tax revenue, because when you get down to it the GOP doesn't care a whit about the deficit either.

    A significant increase in poverty?

You mean, like what has happened over the last eight years through two Presidents of different colors and supposedly ideology?

I believe you have Zag confused with Starman and Ruckus and Champ Petty.

Well, for one thing, Bush & Co. scared enough of the population with their "vote for the other guy and the terrorists will bomb us!" rhetoric which improved their numbers.

And the economy still isn't great, although it's been better than it was four years ago. To reverse your question, since Obama hasn't done anything, then why isn't Mitt running away with this thing?

Hey and let's not forget the "Willie Horton ads" which got all the closet racists, Aryan brotherhood members and Klansmen up off their duffs and out to the polls to vote for George Bush the First and put him over the top!!!!

The "fact-checker" culture has distorted what people think of as a lie.

After the DNC, the AP one, for example, included in its fact-checking the fact that Clinton had sex with an intern, because he criticised Romney on some point or another, i.e. "Who is he to talk?" became a "lie."

Haha! Good catch. My (unstated) point was that the GOP is the group that has been talking about the cliff we're heading over because of the deficit and of course how we cannot continue for one more day with stimulus etc. And the hypocrisy of that position.
