I thought my sarcasm would be obvious from my previous posts and the ridiculousness of it.

Supply-side policies do not work. A strong middle class has historically been the engine of our economy and one of the primary reasons we're having an "L" growth recovery right now is because the middle class has been bled dry over the past 30 years of supply-side economics. Romney's policies would exacerbate that situation.

Then again, government programs such as Medicaid and Medicare -- where the government only pays doctors and hospitals and clinics a small percentage of their services -- are why that surgery will cost six figures instead of $20,000. Service providers have to make up somewhere else when they're getting screwed by the government programs.

I don't think anyone has said such things or believes such things; just that we have a better opportunity to improve with Obama/Democratic policies. Hell, I've survived through Reagan, Bush, and the scariest president of my life, Dick Cheney, and I'm doing doing just fine. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the most needy in our country or all the people who died needlessly in Iraq.

Nate Silver: For Romney to Win, State Polls Must Be Statistically Biased

    http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.com/

So, let's assume for a moment that Romney does win. Can we then have a discussion about bias in polling?

But Cran, if everyone does better by some percentage, the "gap" grows.

While that might be better for the wealthy, it would still be excellent for the lower class, and the middle class.

Raising their standard of living should be the goal, and what we measure, not any gap between them and anyone else.

The only way to shrink the gap is to punish the wealthy, and/or "redistribute" wealth. That's unikely to actually help the lower and middle classes.

    Growth would be much better.

I am voting for Obama because I think he has done a good job, but there are reasonable concerns, based on Romney's words and actions, that further solidify my choice.
--The naming of Supreme Court justices who favor Roe v. Wade repeal, business interests above all else, and the upholding of the Defense of Marriage Act.
--The zealous enforcement of the Defense of Marriage Act.
--The gutting of a health care plan that has helped millions.
--The attacking of culture, starting with one of the most worthwhile uses of television.
--What other sops to the Tea Party he'll give after attacking PBS and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Well, that's wrong, I guess. We have our screechers on the far end of each spectrum, much of which I chalk up to message-board hyperbole. But I don't believe that even Starman or old_tony really believe the crap they say. They're just having some fun and perhaps venting a little.
