    Re: THE 2012 POLITICS THREAD

Four years ago, the left among us were proclaiming the GOP as a "regional party" that would bear little relevance after the Obama Era began.

Here we are, four years later and it looks like a fight to the finish with a number of states who drank from that fountain rushing for the beer this time, so to speak.

You joined the site June 29 of this year.

Can you provide an example? I don't believe this is true.

I'll rank them. Stein, Obama, Johnson, Goode, and Romney. Score for Johnson was 60 percent.

Actually, I think it was a Republican congressman who said it.

You mean like when the Obama campaign claimed there were 20,000 in the 12,000-capacity arena in Milwaukee yesterday?

I remember talk along those lines. I remember a good discussion about if the Obama romp was a sign that things had fundamentally changed and that the dems were set up to dominate, or if it was simply a perfect storm of hatred of Bush/a strong campaigner in Obama.

CNN poll has Romney up by 22 points among independents, but also has the race tied at 49% each.

    LOL.

Tom Davis, R-Va., in November 2008.

Virginia Republican Congressman Tom Davis said Tuesday that the GOP will have to “retool” after the election because it has become “a white, rural, regional party.”

Well, there are a lot of white, rural regions, as it turns out.

So you're saying Minnesota is more of a toss-up than your home state?

Minnesota didn't go for Reagan in '84. It's not going for Romney in '12.
