So an honest lefty, as rare as they are, is not welcome in the left camp. Got it.

Just as honest Republicans aren't welcome in the GOP these days?

Still waiting on you to accept that wager, since you trotted out the whole "I'll bet ..." line in that earlier post. We all know you're just trolling and won't do it, but I wanted to make the offer again.

I completely understand that you want to make the issues about me because you can't afford to have them be about Obama's record. But I don't make bets with people. Haven't in years and years.

"C'mon, bet me!" are the words of little people trying to show how big they are.

And "I don't make bets" after the kind of shit you've been talking makes you sound like a sniveling pussy.

(I never said I'd be nice to you on politics threads. :D )

I don't give a shit about any bets; I want you around for pure comedy. Anyhoo, I think Obama's record is very good. Promised to get a health care plan passed and did, a program that makes for easier access to tons of preventive medicine, that could thus help to save billions of dollars later, a program that makes mental health care far more accesible. He got us out of Iraq, tho not as soon as I would have liked. Has been the commander in chief through the gutting of Al Qaeda leadership, including killing the man behind 9/11. I sure the hell hate that the mess that was left to him forced him to do the bailouts he did. But because of them, the auto industry is on a much better footing. The economy is growing -- not at breakneck speed, granted, but Obama didn't promise a quick solution; no politician in his right mind would. But the economy is at least done cratering and is bouncing back.

And Tony, all things considered, how you can still be so in the tank for big business mystifies me. But no matter. You won't respond substantively to this, and you'll be nowhere around on election night.

Yup, when you can't find a doctor, tell me how well Owe-bama fixed our health care system.

As for big business ... businesses have given me nearly all the jobs I've had in my life. That you and your hero want to destroy them ... well, no wonder the "recovery" is so dismal. At this point in Reagan's first term, our growth rate was around 8 percent.

Yeah, those attacks of our embassies on 9/11 -- just days after Owe-bama kept spiking the football at the Dems' CONvention -- showed how much al-Qaeda is busted up. But I'm sure you just think those dead Americans are four bumps in the road.

You're right about election night. I won't be here. I'll be at the party celebrating. But I'll be around the next day.

The only people talking shit are the folks saying it's all over and Obama has it in the bag. All I've done is point out that the samples on those polls is terribly skewed. So tell me, do you really think there will be a bigger, more-enthusiastic turnout for Obama than in 2008?

And it's just fine if you're not nice to me on the political thread. I can take it. I can handle it on the other threads too, but that would not please Moddy. :D

Nate Silver thinks the election will be much closer to 2008 than 2004 or 2000. Nate Silver is smarter than you.

Anyone trying to compare 2012 to 2010 is a fucking moron who has no clue about politics.

Yeah, cos doctors are never valued and never will have an incentive to be paid by no matter who is providing the money. And, as expected, no concrete rationale for expecting a doctor's shortage.

And, OK, I guess "pay your fair share" equals destroying companies and millionaires. And, of course, businesses have been destroyed by all the incentives governments at all levels have given. The old saw that government restricts economic growth is a load of crap.

In the Middle East, isolated tragedies like that have happened for thousands of years and will happen for thousands more. No country is ever going to be able to stop all terrorist acts; you'll never find a post on here where I blame Bush for 9/11. On balance, the moves taken by Obama's military against Al Qaeda have greatly hindered it.

And no, you won't be around the next day, either. You'll be gone for a long time, till we forget to make you eat crow.
