OK, somebody make up a good drinking game for tonight's debate. Might be the only way I watch this. The wife will be so proud.

Every time YF posts, I think about this Marlo scene:

"You want it to be one way. You want it to be one way. You want it to be one way. ... But it's the other way."

OK, I figure every SportsJournalists.com running thread needs a "The Wire" reference, so now we are covered.

He's famous for long winded answers when he's off script, that's just the "best" of them.

    Here's another:

I'm not the only one pointing this out. The President himself said his aids are trying to get him to give more concise answers.

CNN and USNews mention it in their debate previews"

True, I mean, it's not like we have a prior series of presidential debates we can consult when looking at Obama's performance in presidential debates.

I'll probably just follow the debate on Twitter, and turn it on if there seems to be excitement of an Eastwood-yelling-at-a-chair level.

On the eve of the debate, the right is coming at us with two shockers, things we never knew before, that are sure to turn the election.

    1. Barack Obama can be long-winded.
    2. Barack Obama has dark skin.

Well, he hasn't had one in four years.

He's used to getting his ass kissed, and not having his opinions challenged. He get's upset with the mildest of press questions.

But, as long as he doesn't look at his watch...

Wow, I had completely, thoroughly forgotten all about the controversy over whether or not Bush wore a radio transmitter and had Rove feeding him the answers through an earpiece. What a time that was.

That's another thing, who scheduled this debate between the Obama and Romney camps, and didn't they realize a lot of people may not watch because it's the final day of the baseball season?
