If this is the attitude going forward, close up shop, because your party is dead.

Letting Latino kids who have grown up here stay here and go to college = pandering

Understanding the science behind pregnancy and rape = pandering

I guess the only reason to watch tonight is to see if they stay on script. (Unless Knoller was joking, of course.)

Problem is, YF, a good candidate would not be looking to finally do so in October. Early voting has begun already. It's beyond a little late in the game for Mr. Romney. Plus he's got a hurdle to climb in convincing people that he isn't just saying what he thinks they might want to hear.

Even if he pulls off a good performance, I just think he ran the clock out on himself....he's down 5, looking at a jump ball at mid-court with 3 seconds to go. Even if he wins the possession and drains a 3-ball, it's just gonna make the final score look a little closer at the end.

Problem is there's nothing different that he's ever offered. If "alternative" merely means returning to the policies of the Bush/Cheney years, then NO thanks--we've seen that movie, we don't want to see it again.

He has the support of 46% of the vote in the RealClearPolitics average. It's not like he no one is willing to vote for him.

He's also not down 5. Of the 8 polls currently making up the average, only one -- NPR's -- has Obama's lead at greater than 4 points.

Nearly every poll shows him leading among independents.

What all of the polls show is both Obama and Romney capturing around 90% of the vote among members of their own party. Dems have a slight advantage in raw registration numbers (though the polls have been over sampling them). So, if those numbers hold, Romney needs to attract more Independents.

And now is the time many Independents -- who aren't focused on the primary season -- start to focus on the election.

This is the most Mitt meal ever:

Guy can eat anything in Denver. And he orders BBQ and spaghetti ... FROM THE MOTHERFUCKING CHEESECAKE FACTORY.

Was not trying to actually say he was down 5 in the polls, just using that score in my basketball analogy. I thought about saying down 4 with 3 seconds to play, but he's not really that close. That is an Larry Johnson '3-ball plus the foul' away from tying, and I don't think Mitt is quite that close yet.

He needs more of a Reggie Miller 8 points in 20 seconds scenario/screwup, and Obama ain't Anthony Mason inbounding the basketball here. (Hard to tell I'm a Knicks fan, right?)

It would be more understandable if he ordered Evelyn's Favorite:

    That shit is good.

At this point the only polling that matters is the swing states -- and pretty much only Ohio and Florida. (Pennsylvania has been moved off every swing state map.) Obama leads handily in those -- outside the margin of error even.

Not if you poll only people who post on RedState. Then Romney leads by 1.

Oh yeah Mitt should come out swinging tonight and demand the defense industry issue 123,000 layoff notices RIGHT NOW.

    Because,

    1) It's all about jobs, and

    2) He likes to fire people.

Yep, that'll be a real winner. He might as well ride out on stage riding Rafalca.
