    Re: THE 2012 POLITICS THREAD

Just saw the clip where Romney cites the $716 million figure for Obama cutting Medicare. This is a lie. It isn't a different interpretation, it isn't a half-truth, it isn't anything that can be couched. It is a lie. And the Romney campaign has been told publicly that it's a lie and they really haven't mounted any defense to the charge that it's a lie.

So I guess it's winning to get more people to like you more than they did before the thing started, but it's a lie. A lie. And it needs to be called such.

Chris Matthews looks like his dog just died, meanwhile Hannity is beyond giddy. Guess that might be an indicator of who won.

Agreed pretty much. Style matters in the 'winning and losing' of these things. Romney had the energy.
They're gonna have to let Obama go after him a little bit. That is what gets Romney more flustered.

Is Obama even physically capable of anger?

I understand you don't want the leader of the free world flying off into a white-hot rage at the drop of a hat.

But for fuck's sake, even if you know these debates are a joke, at least act like you give half a shit.

    He's just so ... cold.

I think even if Romney had walked over and punched him in the face, Obama would've just stammered and said, "Well, uh, you know, Mitt, that was uncalled for."

Pathetically pussified does not inspire confidence.

CBS News instapoll: 46% said Romney won. 22% said Obama won. 32% said tie. Decisive win for Romney.

Not if the other side calls you out and exposes the lies. But tonight's Obama wouldn't dare do that. Hopefully we'll see a different version next time.
