Yeah, Hondo. Sometimes it's hard to see through the clutter.

Like the unemployment numbers. Technically, Romney is correct when he says unemployment is higher today than when Obama took office. But it spiked in mid 2009 for reasons that had more to do with Bush policies than Obama policies. It's gone down a bit since. Same with gas prices, which dipped temporarily before the 2008 election then went back up.

So each side is going to spin the numbers to make the other side look bad. Hard to know sometimes where the real truths fall.

The teabag loons who run the GOP do not think government works, they do not think it will ever work, they do not think it CAN ever work, they will do everything in their power to make sure it does NOT work.

And Republicans' efforts to defeat universal health coverage date back to the early '90s, when king weasel Bill Kristol wrote that they should fight HillaryCare with all their might because if it passes, the Democrats would become so popular with the middle class that they wouldl never lose another election.

He's their fucking candidate. If they won't work to help him succeed, who on earth will they work with?

Never understood the contempt of candidates for government when they are actually running to be part of.... uh, the government. If you hate government so much, go do something else with your life.

I went to a backyard meet and greet with our local congressman who's been in office for 36 years. I asked him, when did gridlock start?

He said when Gingrich took over in '94, he said "no more ride sharing, no more cordial relationships."

That's sad. Instead of mutual respect, cooperation and collaborative solutions, we get strict partisanship and gridlock.

Still above 70 percent at -255.

Good lord. Is there any evidence that debates actually have that big of an impact?

My past observation has been that they don't. For example, in 04, the consensus was that Kerry crushed Bush in the debates, but it didn't seem to matter on election day when he still got his ass kicked.

    Why would this be different?

Oh, they'll work with him to get stuff done. What they'll work on getting done is pillaging the middle class for everything they haven't taken already.

    Only don't tell anybody yet.

Yeah, I have never put one of those bets down, but -255 is a fine fine number to be getting right now.

Of course, I was theoretically all over Oregon -29 against Wazzu so what do I know.
