    Here's a hint: 1913 was in the 20th Century.

Unlike the spiking the Democrats did a month ago, no Americans will get killed as a result.

At least football has replaced baseball for the preferred presidential election sports metaphor. It's at least a little novel.

I saw something yesterday saying Romney had a chance but it would take a Reggie Miller-type comeback.

I guess he just hit a three and stole the ball.

The country also had slave labor to keep costs down and a frontier filled with natural resources and cheap land to promote growth during most of that time.

Vote Old Tony 2012: up is down, down is up, and making the case for time travel!

Here's another football metaphor for this presidential election:

Obama is the regular NFL refs: relentlessly criticized but much better than
Romney the replacement ref: would be a much worse leader

I could make a really snark comment. Instead, I'll just say this: I'm sure you have just misspoken and aren't really looking back on slavery with a wanting eye.

It's also great to see you recognize how important growth is. Now if you only understood what promotes growth here in the 21st Century.

    You're wrong, OT.

People will still get killed in Chicago.

Obama's up a dozen with less than an over to bowl, and he's removed most of the slips and bowling off stump. Romney needs to come out of the crease and hit some boundaries with intent.

Just heard a replay of David Axelrod being interviewed. He was asked why Obama didn't go after Romney on the 47 percent (an incident blown completely out of proportion by the media) and Bain Capital (as has been said often, I care more about what Obama does with my money than what Romney does with his).
Axlerod's reply: Because the President wanted to focus more on issues in the debate.
Good to hear that. That must mean the Democrats will no longer run commercials about the 47 percent or Bain Capital.
